In years past I took the WAX from the airport and got dropped off outside of NYNY.
Looking into bus routes now I no longer see the WAX route? Has the route been renamed?

Thanks, exactly what I needed to know. Planning on taking the CX from airport then I getting dropped off outside NYNY for a stay at Park MGM... hopefully the wife won't mind a little walk with her luggage!

One more stupid question... I don't need to worry about if it Says Northbound or Southbound since the airport is basically at the end of line?

If you want to know when the bus comes, knowing which direction you’re going might be helpful. Going FROM the airport is Northbound. Going TO the airport is Southbound.

CX is running on a weekend schedule every day right now.

It is possible to board the southbound CX at terminal 1 and travel to terminal 3 which is the last southbound stop.

I suspect the driver may point this out if you would try to board the bus at that time.

I would check the schedule it was very accurate last month when I was there. I used it twice from terminal 3 and the driver left at the published (weekend) time.

Thanks everyone. I downloaded both the apps today. and was bored so watched the live bus thing for the CX route. Thanks to you guys I feel confident now. Hopefully the timing works out so we don't miss the bus by a few min. If I have to wait longer than 30 min. will probably just do a Uber/Lyft.

The route times on the CX show that it doesn't run that frequently, if you miss it I would recommend taking the 108 instead, it takes about the same time as the old WAX or CX(maybe 5 min more) and it'll drop you at the bonneville center. Another option for those that dont mind a 5 block walk.

I remember a few years back I took the 108 to the bonneville center and then hopped on the Duece or whatever the express bus was/is called.

Or take the 109. Northbound from the airport it stops downtown at 4th and Clark before going to the BTC.

Does anybody know if you can pay $2 cash for a one-way trip from Airport to Fremont Street? And does it pick up the same place the WAX bus used to?

Yes it is still $2, but it is not the WAX. it will be making many more stops.

Is the CX $2 cash, or are all residential routes $2 cash for a ride?

Yes, that is the fare for all routes other than the Deuce on the strip. The CX is basically the old WAX between the Airport and downtown, with an added stop at the university.
If you are at the main terminal (terminal 1) make sure you board a northbound CX, because the southbound CX is going to terminal 3 instead.

my flight is scheduled to land 4 minutes before the CX leaves for the strip - which will lead to everyone's favorite game - if the flight lands a few minutes early will there be enough time for me to OJ myself through the terminal and make the bus or will i be forced to wait an hour for a g'damn uber?

I would say it takes about 8-10 minutes to "fast walk" from Spirit terminal to bus stop. So, depending on when and where you actually get off the plane you might make it. The buses do follow a pretty good on time schedule too.
