Thank you for the trip report, but more importantly, thank you for being honest about your swings in variance. I appreciate that you chased it down....and it paid off.

Excellent trip report. Felt like I was there with you. You are also a good photographer. The icing on the cake was leaving ahead after having been significantly down. Thanks to your luck at Aria, and donations at MGM, I would not be surprised if another invite to the Mansion was in your future. Sounds like the Mansion experience is like visiting an Oasis of calm and luxury in the middle of the LV hustle and bustle.

That was an entertaining read, and that's the most I've seen of the inside of the mansions. I see the appeal now. I'd certainly jump at the chance to stay there! Good job chasing the bad money, too!

Great report! The level of service in the Mansion is amazing. Love all the floral displays too. I wonder, how do they keep that service road secure? I imagine they don't want us non-mansion lookie-loos going around. Do you have to annoyingly flash your key to travel in and out, or do the staff just learn to know you? I've read in your past reports about the importance of a steam shower - glad you had one again! Amazing details, thanks for giving us a peek!

Great report! I only play baccarat so I know how those bad shoes can go. But man when those good shoes come.....

Also been there in similar spots when you said you "only" need one more 1k bet to stop. Then it goes down a cliff faster than you expect it..yikes. At least you didn't leave in the negative

    I'm not a comp wizard like @JulianC ,
but I'd guess losing your ass at the property you are comped at,
and winning it back somewhere else,
    will get you another invitation..

that really felt like a haiku to write but I think too many syllables..
    yes I'm drunk RN. :eek::cool:

I don't think so. There are villas of various sizes (shocker, I was in a smaller one) and some of those may have smaller additional bedrooms. I believe the larger villas are closer to the pool area. I'm sure someone that has spent more time in the mansion can answer that question more definitively.

Let me be clear, the Mansion was awesome. anyone should stay there in a heartbeat if given the chance. I guess I was just a little surprised the gulf of difference between the Mansion and Skylofts was not larger. I like both very much. They are just different. If i were to try and describe the difference succinctly, I think I would say that the lofts are trying to appeal to a younger, more party-centric demographic and the Mansion is appealing to a more staid, older demographic of hardcore gamblers and rich people that don't like to be seen (you can stay in the Mansion and the high limit room without ever stepping foot in the rest of the resort if you so choose). I am nothing if not staid, lol

Yes, that is a perfect description! I am still obsessed with how they managed that, lol

lol, I would be. I suspect this opportunity was simply the result of the lack of customers during a pandemic. Maybe again someday if its midweek during the slowest time of year. But I'm still not counting on it and glad I got a chance to experience it for a few days.

There is no way in from the service road because the entrance gate is covered. Maybe is you happen to be walking by when its open for a vehicle, a doorman could wave you in. But I'm also guessing most Mansion guests aren't like me, looking to use a service road as a shortcut to the sportsbook or Bellagio, lol. also, there are so few guests at any given time at the Mansion, I believe the staff recognizes all the guests. Since I have to use a hiking pole to get around these days, I'm usually pretty easy for hotel staff to remember

I guess its not a surprise, but within a week of getting home, I started receiving emails from my new Aria host, lol. Aria fired my host during the downsizing last year and I haven't stayed there since then, partly in protest. But my new host has become really interested in my play after this trip (and another I haven't written up yet)

I’ve read this 3 times and I’m so confused; why not $999?

Wow. What a great report. I'm a Baccarat player as well. I can relate to this roller coaster on the tables but the only difference is that I usually have my big loss near the beginning of the trip and I need the rest of the trip to win it back slowly. LOL. Very happy to hear you got leave in positive territory. Well done.

I have had those trips too. I would estimate that two-third of my trips involve some kind of extended losing streak or blow up where I either give back most or all of my winnings or go into a deep hole. If it happens early in the trip, that means I'm almost certainly in a hole and going to chase. If it happens later in the trip and involves mostly giving back winnings, I will sometimes shrug my shoulders and remind myself that I'm still going home close to even. The dangerous trips are this one, where I blow up on the last day and could have stopped at close to even, but didn't. Then I'm stuck mid to high five figures, usually with some big bets on the table that will put me six figures in the hole if I don't win. Fortunately, this trip, I won the table max bets at Aria (after losing two at MGM and going into the hole to begin with). Got lucky this trip.

The other third of the time are the best trips. Its like the first two days of this trip report. Just consistent wins that add up. Even on those types of trips, there will be times in the middle of a BJ or bac shoe where I hit a cold streak and give some back, but I always catch up and leave the table up. I try to remind myself on these low HA games that it tends to even out over time, so just bet steady during the bad streaks and try not to make what I call "frustration" bets. I made a few of those on day three of this trip (I hate those fucking chop patterns at baccarat :grrr::grrr::grrr::grrr:!)
