Has anyone here ever been told by a host that he can get them an evening companion or illegal substances? I am just curious. You always hear about it in movies but does it happen in real life? I feel like I am lucky if my host gets me a free buffet.

I don't (and I doubt anyone on this board) plays at THAT level. (if it was possible) I believe that the guy who fleeced Fry's might have, or the guy from Nebraska who owned Oriental Trading.

And I believe the word that your looking for is illicit, not elicit.

Watanabe said in court that Caesars supplied him with pills upon request to keep him gambling. No idea if the host was involved, though

I’m sure there are hosts that are capable or ‘know a guy.’

You’re not going to get anyone to admit to that kind of stuff here.

That was quite the story around here when that happened. He essentially lost his standing with the company for that little stunt!

There was apparently another similar incident some 20 years before where the son of a prominent local restaurateur ran up charges on a "family" marker and they sent the goons back here to have a "chat" with Dad about it.

That story was a good one.
I believe CET had his play as a line item and it was an impressive % of their income.

I watched an episode of Drugs Inc on discovery I think? A host basically said it’s not so much them as much as it is they know a guy or multiple people for the whale type players.

Or anywhere. To be honest, I would make sure that anyone who did something like that would be marched out the door and trespassed within 30 seconds of finding out. It's just not the right thing to do. I know Vegas has its whole "Sin City" reputation, but it's just not okay. And remember that (1) casinos are regulated the same way as banks, and (2) gaming is the most discretionary use of money that there is, so I'd be furious if anyone jeopardized the public trust in the industry.

I probably have friends of friends who know people, but it's not anything I'd even consider helping with, let alone jeopardizing my career for. Adults can make their own decisions, but I would never let people facilitate illegal activity.

I’m going to make a really vague statement here but (big) MONEY makes some people behave irrationally . But I agree, I wouldn’t jeopardize my career for someone else....some people would...it’s not my place to judge what people do with their lives (or money).

If you Google “Jimmy Dimora Vegas Host” you can read about a host’s involvement in Mr Dimora’s corruption scandal. I’m not an attorney, but I don’t think the host did anything illegal here. Just “I know this lady” kinda thing.

If you Google “Palms Vegas Hookers” - that’s more involved but it was the nightclub & not the casino hosts.

These cases are a bit dated but it happens I guess. Makes you wanna call your host and complain about your comps.

I had a host that said she put me on the guest list at Pure (yeah, it was THAT long go) and she didn't and I ended up waiting in line for over an hour to get in. If that isn't what you call an illicit activity that a host can commit, then I don't know know what is. ;)

I don't know whom to attribute this quote to, but I've heard the line, "Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas, but it's not against the law for me to introduce you to someone."

Don't know about "offers," but …

July 1981 ~ Landmark Hotel ~ First and only trip with my father who unexpectedly died shortly thereafter. (Damn. I just realized I am now his age when he passed.)

Every day for three consecutive days we saw a group of Texans, big guys with big bankrolls and big western hats at the craps table. Every day each guy had a different girl standing next to him at the rail. The guys were drinking heavily and were oblivious to anything other than the craps action. One guy in particular would give his girl a few chips after a good roll and tell her to bet. She would then hem and haw and eventually (or not) make a pass line or field bet and surreptitiously "go south" with some of the winnings or the chips when he wan't looking. The young women would generally look bored out of their gourds standing there hours-on-end until the guys interacted with them, then they would smile and become animated.

Edited due to typo: 1981 not 1991. Dad was born in 1910.

An older pit boss told me a story where a whale was playing late at night and got a huddle of security around him while his “date” gave him a bj while playing bj. I don’t think he was lying...
