    Hi all

I know this is very subjective but I like hearing people's opinions. If your budget was 350 a day for slots, whats denoms would you play to make your money and fun last? Strictly pennies or bump up to something additional?

Thanks and I hope everyone is having a great week!

It really depends on how long you'd want to play. For the maximum duration, definitely pennies, and between $0.80 and $1.20 a pull, maybe less.

I agree with DaiLun. Anything, much beyond a dollar a pull could make playing end really early that day on a $350 budget , if (more like when) you hit a bad streak. So the denomination is not as important as the total bet.

It depends on your objective IMO. Since you said it's to "make your money and fun last", lower volatility games like Double Diamond would be the way to go for the sake of bankroll endurance. Generally speaking, the higher the denomination, the lower the house edge. But likewise, you'll be scaling up your variance at the same time. I think if you were playing such a game at <$2 per pull ($0.25/$0.50/$1.00 denom, if two credits max bet) you could make $350 per day last a decent amount of time. The only downside is those types of games are a bit boring compared to some of the games with bonus rounds and jackpots. If those might spice things up, I'd consider playing $20 at a time on alternating machines... i.e., $20 into Double Diamond $0.25 ($0.75 total) and play until at $0 or a specified win goal, then $20 into a game like Top Dollar/Buffalo/whatever looks fun at a similar total bet until the same loss/win parameter, then back to the low volatility game.

Personally I'd budget a bit of that for some $5+ pulls. I.e., $250 as the main bankroll, and the last $100 for some long shots.

If playing specifically for comps or a fixed amount of coin-in, I don't have experience doing such things... but the guidance I've read on here and elsewhere seems to favour taking that threshold and formulating your play based on making that goal. Though I suspect this isn't the case from your post.

No matter what your daily bankroll is, the issues are somewhat constant.

    A) Higher denomination has a slightly better edge to the player.

    B) Playing a machine with a lower jackpot will generally give you better payback in the short haul.

    C) Machines with high jackpots will pay out less along the way. Especially those million dollar jackpots. That money has to come from somewhere.

    D) Theme machines sometimes are a bit tighter because the owner of that theme gets a cut of the action.

    E) The higher $$ amount per bet will cut into your longevity. Any wins will be larger, but losses hit hard. Crazy example: If you play a $350 machine and lose on the first spin, you are done. Playing $1 per spin mans you get at least 350 spins.

F). The lower $$ amount per bet means you can get more spins (time), but also means each win will be smaller.

So, find the mix that you enjoy.

Great advice. I would suggest $1 per spin in a low volatility slot machine. Make sure you skip the 'branded' slots (Big bang theory, movie based slots) and also skip any Wide area progressive slots. Those have higher hold because of the kickback to the TV show/Movie and the progressive jackpot respectively.

If you are feeling adventurous and you had a good run and want to bump it up, try something like buffalo or buffalo gold. Its one of my favorite slots.

I usually try to keep to a $300 per day loss as I'm there 3-4 weeks, and most of my play is ~$1-1.50 a spin.

What's your goal? play as long as you can or try to get a bit hit?

For 350/day I would do half on a $5 slot to get a bit hit and the other half would be towards video poker at the bartop to get the drinks flowing

In fact this may be a laudable goal of mine next trip....to maximize my freeplay and free drinks !!!

It's only my second time playing slots so I just want to keep my host from being upset and keep my comps at cosmo. I sprinkle in table games as well on a separate budget (350/day slots and about 1k/trip for tables), but really just trying to maximize my slot time and free booze.

Last trip my coin in was pretty low at 3.3k ish a day and a total loss of 1500 so seeing options I can try.

These are my three favorite grinding games of all time. Knight of La Mancha and Rich Life are back to back at the Venetian. $50 could last hours...seriously.

Lucky Lines is a little more volatile than the two slots from above but it will still give you tons and tons of play.

and that gets you a host at Cosmo? Or are you staying a different property?

I never stayed Cosmo but do drop in play every trip, reasonable play some High limit slots and bartop Chandelier bar play and only get weekday nights comp plus $50 freeplay here and there.

Yea still unsure how this happened lol but I am proactive and email hosts before I ever stay on property. I get three nights in a terrace one bedroom on my offer plus my tier nights. Last time had some taken off on the back end as well.

My next Vegas weekend I have a similar Bankroll ($250 at Plaza on Wednesday Night, $600 for tables/Keno at El Cortez on Thursday and $400 at El Cortez for Slots on Friday). My plan is to hit up the Silver Strike for some play since it is only 75 cent max bet, 100 hand video poker on the penny denomination, and a couple of Monopoly slots at $2.50 per spin. I always try to break up my gambling session by doing some shopping, getting a massage, or something else like that to make the money last longer.

Most of the newer machines have minimum bets of around $0.60 ,,$0.80 a bet.

Play the lower bets earlier in the day , if you still have money left late at night and you think you'll be going to bed soon thats when to try bigger bets if you want or if it was me carry any daily budget left over to the next day.

$350 could go very quickly playing anything over a dollar if you get a few cold machines .

Mike, can you, or any other VMBr recommend any 'grinders' in Aria?

Min bet (40 cents? 80 cents?) on old Buffalo or Buffalo Deluxe. There are a few of those scattered around.
If that's too boring, do min bet on Wicked Winnings 3 (50 cents) - there's one not too far from the lobby.
Ignore all of the fancy slots (ie, anything with a multi-story video screen). Walking Dead will drain your bankroll even at min bet.
Aria has some 25c denom Top Dollar near the lobby - do max bet to get the bonus rounds.
There are a cluster of older machines in the back, by the exit towards Park MGM. Lucky 88, Davinci Diamonds, etc.

I consider Wonder 4 to be a grinder because the bonus rounds can take up time, but $2.00-$2.40 min bet might be a bit high.

    For longevity:

25 cent denom Top Dollar or Pinball or Wheel of Fortune (ie. a three-reeler with some sort of bonus potential) playing 2 or 3 coins/spin, whatever the max coin is.

Buffalo Gold (or any other penny) at .80/spin

You should normally be able to get $1,750 coin in out of $350.

Should be 2,000+ spins, so 4+ hours.

How much is the drinking and other activities budget? How long do you want to be slotting per day?

Wish I could help out but Aria is one of those casinos that I really haven’t played a whole lot of slots.
