Just wondering if the wait times have increased (lack of drivers) or decreased (lack of travelers) as of late as compared to pre-covid times. Planning our first visit in over a year (we got our shots!) and would like to know what to expect as we no longer use taxis in Vegas.
    Thanks in advance!

I had no issues from Strip to McCarren Aug, Oct, Nov. 10 min at most,, some shorter. I never rideshare airport to Strip so couldn't report that

I think, however, it's very situational, dependent on day, time, tourist-demand, etc. If you read through prior threads on this topic, it'll show one respondent relates nightmarish waits, next person posts no wait at all.....

I’ve used Uber about 6 times with 0-5 minute waits over the past 3 weeks. One guy was even staged at Paris.

Be aware of some suspect or fake Uber/Lyft drivers. A few parked on the side of Bally's tried to offer us "off the book" rides last month. Would never do that and the rate they threw out wasn't even cheaper...

Scam? Not necessarily. I used an off-app Lyft ride a few months ago in Laughlin. Used the app once, afterwards the driver gave us a business card and said to just call directly.

No waiting, same price, driver keeps the money.

I'll grant that's certainly different than just jumping cold into a car displaying the sign.

Interesting...can you elaborate on what this app is? I have not heard of it. Thanks.

Mmmm - I’ve had drivers give me their card but I’ve always gone thru the app. This guy had a 1/2 eaten sandwich on his dash so he may have just been eating while waiting.

Sounds about right but I always feel a bit safer by using the app as there is a record of the transaction.

Depends on where you're coming from. They can stage at CP, Paris, Bellagio, or Wynn; less so at Aria or MB, since they have different pickup spots.
Fair, but even regular cabs have GPS tracking. And Uber does have a licensing requirement for LV. Even if paying cash, you can get a receipt with your ride info in about 15 seconds.

However, the $3 credit card fee remains ridiculous.

Yeah, they do that, but the issue is that they're really, really not supposed to do that. I've had cab drivers give me their card, but if it's rideshare and off-app, the insurance issues get messy and if you wind up in an accident, it can be a problem. The guys with actual licensing and insurance are usually covered, as they can work as a private car service.
What kind of sandwich, is the question? If it was something pretty good, I'd be more forgiving than if it was a Subway turkey... :p

Of course not, but that's between the driver and Lyft. I'm just trying to get somewhere.

Insurance is between the driver and me, but I gotta say, it's not something I sweat in my day-to-day life. I assumed that risk when I climbed into the car. We're a board full of gamblers, right?

I never ask my friend for proof of liability before I get in his car, either.

Right, but your friend isn't using his car for commercial purposes when you drive somewhere with them. That sort of thing strays outside the usual, required insurance that people in just about every state have to have for their personal use of their car.

But, that said, if you're willing to completely assume the risk, that's your call.

Wait time was 20 minutes at the airport Saturday afternoon. I was surprised it was that long cause lots of people were waiting but I guess some drivers still don’t wanna work or have moved away or to different employment. 7B107392-08FF-457E-A126-39F6C366C61F.jpeg

I booked Lyft yesterday as I was leaving baggage claim. The app said he would be there in 3 minutes!! So I hoofed it up and did have to wait a minute or two.
