In a casino, nothing is really too crazy.
Casino is place to gamble. just saying.

I think in California even Roll to Win involves cards.

Got it. Haven't actually seen any of these in the wild, myself, only in labs.

The sound of the dice hitting the glass is incredibly jarring/grating.

Agreed... I mean I’ve had a celebrity or two at tables in the past. Some normal people, some quirky AF. I love the over-superstitious players to be honest.

But my absolute favorite craps moment is this... Early AM, just me at my normal spot stick left and a very attractive woman on the other side. I’m rolling up a storm and was startled a bit by a cocktail waitress asking about drinks as I release the dice. It lands one on top of the other launching one straight up in the air. “Dice in the rack” was the call... I’ll let you imagine that one for a minute.

But the dealer looks at me and says “same dice I imagine???” :kill:

By all accounts I know, he was a real nice guy. But he tried way too hard to keep up with Jordan and the other big spenders form Chicago when it came to casinos, clubs, cars, etc. and he just didn't have their income. Glad he found work as a broadcaster

I agree. Also any possible dice influencing— inside or outside California— looks impossible with that glass

As it relates to the posts about whales in sheep’s clothing: yesterday was our last day of the trip. We were heading to the elevator bank to get back to our room to pack and go. There was a family ahead of us, with a very chatty wife and husband, a little kid and one older gentleman shuffling towards the button to go upstairs. I’m thinking man, he looks sort of tired. They should let Gramps rest. They head into their own elevator as we wait for another one. As soon as grandpa turns around I realize it’s the guy from the table. I’m unreasonably excited and keep trying to get my girlfriends attention to show her “see!! That’s the guy!” If I hadn’t seen him with a million bucks you’d think he had just walked in off the strip to get a cup of coffee

I was off work one day and took a trip to Aztar (now Tropicana) in Evansville. It doesn't matter which day you go, it's always the same people playing. Anyhow, this one guy walks up to the table and says, "I want some chips." The box said, "Well, we need some money." The guy said, "My name's Gary" and he dropped a $10 bill and was given 2 $5 chips. He then asked what to do. The dealer told him to put one of them on the pass line. Dice are rolled (on a come out roll), and it's 4. The dealer tells him to put his other chip behind the first one, which he does. Next roll is a 4 and he wins $15. He doesn't realized he's won and just leaves his chips on the table. Box tells him to pick up his chips, which he does, and he just holds them. Box realizes that something seems different and tells him to put his chips on the rack and asks him who he came with and a couple of other questions.

About this time a lady who looks like a mother rushing to pull her child out of traffic grabs him. It turns out she worked for an adult day care place for special needs adults and they were on a field trip. They had reserved some penny slot machines for the folks to play and Gary had wandered off while she and the other lady were getting everyone situated. She apologized and the box told her no problem, Gary won $15, and joked that Gary was on pace to bankrupt the casino at the pace he was winning.

    Two observations:
    1) The crew handled the situation perfectly. I've seen people mistreat others who have issues. They didn't treat him in a disrespectful manner. When it was apparent that he had no business being there, they simply had him put his chips up and tried to find out what was up. They didn't crack jokes about him after he left.

    2) Who the hell takes an adult day care class to a casino???

Marvin's parents, that's who! Well, not exactly adult day care.

I worked with a man whose son Marvin had Down's Syndrome. The family would take road trips to Reno, where they would take turns watching Marvin while the other gambled. When Marvin turned 21, he demanded (and, boy, could Marvin demand!) to be allowed to play the slots, but they said that he needed his own gambling money. So …

Marvin collected recyclable soda/beer cans and bottles, then his parents would take him across the border (15 miles away) to Oregon to return them for 5¢ each. That money would be his grubstake. Then dad retired and Marvin wanted a better paying job, so he got one cleaning public lavatories every morning in our tourist town. His father, bless his soul, would work with him. Marvin would make few purchases with his wages, but the lion's share would be for his slot play.

A couple of years ago my friends and I were walking through MB and there was a pretty open craps table with $10 mins about 3PM. So we decided to play. There was a well dressed older gentleman (dress pants and dress shirt but nothing crazy) playing on the end. The dealers all knew him. He was playing black chips and probably had at least $1,000 out on the table and at least $5,000 in his rack.

My friends and I bought in and started playing but the table was really choppy. We made small talk with the guy and he said he was in real estate. One of my friends is also in real estate and so he took interest.

The table turned cold and this guy lost all of his chips. He asked the dealers to hold his place and said he would be back.

About 15 minutes later he came back with an envelope that had cash in it and bought back in for $10,000. I assume he went up to his room and pulled money out of his safe. When he bought back in he asked for the table mins to be raised to $25 and they obliged but grandfathered us in at $10.

We continued playing for a while and walked away pretty much even. We then went to dinner and on our way back through the casino a few hours later this guy was still in the same spot continuing to play. His rack was loaded up with chips at this point so I assume he had some good luck while we were at dinner but for all I know he could have brought down more cash.

You may be tongue in cheek but I had an uncle with early Alzheimer’s but if he was at the casino at a slot machine, he started firing on at least six of eight cylinders and had a grand day

I'm a fan of old-school Vegas and used to put on a sport jacket, dress pants and Italian loafers, but the only demographic I was attracting was working girls so I stopped lol.

I was at the Wynn one time in 2013 when this kid, I say 'kid' because he looked barely over 21, whips out three bananas and puts them on the Don't. Shooter sets up an 8, and he backs up his Don't bet with three white chips. Two rolls later, bang! Fourty-four, he loses. Doesn't bat an eyelash, change his facial expression or anything, and puts another 3 bananas on the Don't. Shooter sets up another eight, and he comes right back with three white chips for his odds bet. This time the shooter crapped out and he got it all back. This was all in the span of about four minutes!

When I'm out with the wife in Las Vegas we both typically get pretty dressed up for a night of dinner, show and gambling. It feels good and reinforces in our heads the notion that we're having an experience. That way, if the gambling gods don't favor us, we aren't losing but rather spending it on our big date night. A few times, usually after my wife goes to bed, someone asks me why I'm so dressed up, and then I usually make up a story..."I was at a wedding," "I received an industry award tonight," etc.

I've been experimenting with getting a little dressier than "comfortable" and feels like it helps with most all casino employee interactions..
but maybe it's trying to tip w. all fives.. takes up a lot less space than fumbly ones...
I'll keep pressing it up until it results in a few miserable failures.
maybe it's just feeling good inside, but it really truly seems to help the gambling..
(but maybe that's always being the heaviest, and often only george level toker at the table)

I do tone it down several notches, such as heading out onto Freemont at 4:30 am.
but actually, it was a ghost town, more police than people.

I say give it a try, what do you got to lose.
    "bring the class back"..

(suddenly realizing it was @mcCans suit posts that probably sparked this)

    back ot,
I saw some hilariously crazy stuff last Sun at Circa craps, but I won't throw "D-money" under the bus.
