It was still alive and well at Gold Coast the last time I was there. In front of the buffet area toward the south side of the casino.

I remember seeing one the last time I was there too. (between keno and the bathrooms?) There's some oldies in that area, Alien comes to mind.

Alien seems to still be fairly common. It's at our local Ameristar, or at least it was the last I checked.

I played that Ghostbusters machine at Revel in AC when they first opened. I did not have your same level of success, unfortunately.

Santa fe station by the grand cafe second machine in you'll find jeannie. I play a keno machine opposite and wish I get a dollar for every time I hear "oh master"

I miss the Twilight Zone slots. The last time I played one was probably in the early 2000's at what was Barbary Coast back then. I had a win of 17,000 but unfortunately it was pennies... I told people the rest of the day that I had hit a 17,000 jackpot..

Outback Jack, along with many of the old Aristocrat games will be disappearing soon. Last spring Nevada Gaming revoked the entire MAV500 platform, which was Aristocrat's platform for much of the 2000-2008 games until the Vridian cabinets came out.I think the NV casinos have a year to either remove them from service or replace the daughter board with an updated version, which is several thousand dollars. I doubt many will opt for replacing the board on a game that is that old but you never know.

So that's why you're seeing games like OBJ, Mr Woo, Pelican Pete, older Cashman games, etc are no longer there. I think Avi in Laughlin is the only NV casino that is Native American owned so they are exempt.

If you look at the side of the cabinet and if the serial number starts with MV, then it's in this. Aristocrat carried over many titles into the Vridian games like Buffalo, WWII, etc. Probably the best tell is if the buttons are square its probably MAV500, when they went to Vridian most of the buttons were triangular.

This is really unfortunate as they were the most creative slots ever made IMO and what I choose to play 95% of the time.

I remember an Elvis slot that I loved playing at the old Sahara in the early 2000s. They had a few machines over by the Mexican restaurant and it was fun hitting a bonus round and making Elvis sing for you. If I remember correctly, you got to select the song that played in the bonus game.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe these are the machines I remember.

Interesting article. This may be way more complex than I thought, but if there are popular older games, does it cost any more to put them in a new cabinet than it does to manufacture a brand new game and throw it out there...maybe to gain a following or maybe to be gone in a few months?

I never got to make Elvis sing, but I still get to hear Dean sing go go go every now and then. :)

Ha, those Moneyburst games sucked my dry over the years, I've done better on the Reel Boost games . "My gal is like a racehorse, I play her to win..."

I loved the community ones like Monopoly or Wizard of Oz Big Event. So much fun and camaraderie. I used to play them at Paris and Flamingo but they were gone the last time I was there.

Awesome reels. Usually money suckers but loved the possibility of GIANT hits on small bets.

I miss the Queen slots - such great music clips. I also miss the big Wheel of Fortune game with room for about 6 players to sit around the wheel.

Really used to like the Cheers machine.
I hope the two Monkeys machines are still in the back corner of the NYNY in a few weeks.
