Being from Canada as well I've been on this "should I go or not" boat for awhile too. I ultimately have not gone yet. Not from being afraid of the virus etc, but because of the thought of the hoops I would have to jump through to go and come back. And this was before the mandatory testing to and from.
    My 2 cents...
I don't think this Super Bowl weekend will be the same as it's been know to be over the years in Vegas. Also, if you're alone it will probably change the experience as well from what you've been used to over the years.
I think if you go you may not enjoy yourself, definitely not as much as in years past... and you may end up saying crazy things like wishing you could spend more time in Arizona than in Vegas ;) ;)

Can you think of any other time that you’ve been ‘gun shy’ about going to Vegas??

If I’m reading all this correctly....don’t go!!!

That whole evolution sounds like a giant goat rope, to me.

I'm not offering advice because we're all different. But I wouldn't even consider jumping through those hoops, for just a few days in Las Vegas.

Well, I consider "drinking and gambling" to be business. Others consider it leisure.

$300 by yourself is okay but if you have a family it adds a lot of $$$ to a trip, no question.

I think I just heard a schhhwwwiiiinggg from southern Alberta. All you can eat and drink for the same price as Circa sportsbook and a casino he likes the vibe of. If this doesn't confirm his booking, nothing will. Now just a little luck dealing with the IRS.

Now look—once you get a signed permission slip from the wife, you can't dilly-dally around like this. It's lock and load time! Make it happen!

I have cancelled a trip or two in the past after a massive loss. It is rare but it has happened.

I can be notoriously lazy when it comes to minute details. Such is the life of a Type B personality.

I was thinking more along the lines of the PITA testing. Pre/during/post trip.

    We all have our limits...

Wife approved Vegas Super Bowl Trip?

I often get my inspiration from the classic Bluto speech from Animal House (YMMV):

"What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst! 'Ooh, we're afraid to go with you, Bluto, we might get in trouble.' Well, just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this! "

Are you expecting 3 or 4 overtimes? Just curious because the game kicks off at 3:30 pst and should be done by 8 at the latest. Back the real question though HELL YES GO!

I tend to make these types of decisions with the question of "Which of the worst-case scenarios will I regret least?"... consider how many things could go wrong in even a mildly worst-case scenario, especially with flights, and to me it seems like there are a lot of cons that outweigh the pros, even if those pros involve going to Vegas.

Personally I'd lean towards simply doing a staycation locally, and getting a room that fits the bill of what you were going for from which you could watch the game.

Just looked up rates for that evening at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, you could get the bi-level loft room below for CAD $362 all-in. That bed wouldn't be the worst place to recover from a post-game hangover, without the anxiety of having to rush to the airport :)
