No comparison. I gave up on cosmo. Even the HL room at cosmo has poor service. V/P has very friendly folks that really make the experience great.

    I LOVE Cosmo balconies.
But V/P threw us our first comps after just a few hours of .25VP play this summer...so we jumped & frankly fell in love. I did feel the bar staff was more personable at Venetian than Cosmo in October. (I like to play at the bar...I know it's not my best odds but I never have to wait for a drink!)
Curious--what games/levels are you playing? (Cosmo offered me a whopping $10FP after a few hours in Oct))

I played slots at Cosmo; mainly the old school kind like Top Dollar. I played $5 slots for a good while and switched to $1 slots. According to Cosmo, I had right at $5000 coin in. For that, they gave me the $115 Freeplay offer, $15 free play from the identity points, $180 in comps.

At Venetian, I mainly played the $5 Top Dollar, $ 2x3x4 machine, and lightning link ($0.10) at $5 per spin. The lightning link seems to have the worst odds but it also kept me playing the longest. I accumulated just over 22,000 points in 5 nights. I wound up down more than I wanted but that was because of a couple of dumb moves. I was tired and hit the 88 fortunes machine thinking it was set to a penny, but it was set to a dollar. That took a few hundred fast. One day I decided to see what $1000 would do in a $25 machine. The answer was absolutely nothing. I know now with a $1000 per day bankroll, it is best to stick with $5 machines.

I did get a card from a host on the third day, and he comped everything on our 5-night stay. We weren't extravagant, but we did eat 2 meals a day at the hotel for 4 adults and 3 kids, as my in-laws came to eat with us. All-in-all I consider it a win. I had a lot of fun, got treated like royalty, and it still cost me less than a trip to Disney for me, my wife, and my kids.

I was deciding between Cosmo and V/P for a trip next weekend. Thanks for the thread and opinions here, we are trying V/P this trip after paying to stay at Wynn last 4-5 trips. We love the service there and am encouraged by feedback on employees at V/P. I am not especially fond of the Cosmo casino but freely admit the balconies are intriguing and suspect we will try them at some point.
Weed smell is a big turnoff and drink service isn’t critical to me.

I'm a huge fan of Cosmo, not a High Roller, and have always been treated well (more often above and beyond) wether I stay or visit there.

In terms of the OP's treadmill thing at the gym, I'm pretty sure you'd run into a similar issue across multiple properties, it just depends on policy. Hell, my apartment gym has an age limit. Running on the Strip is also fun, especially early in the morning.

Agree 100%. There's nothing better than watching the sun come up while running on the Strip, especially when the temperature is so mild like at this time of year.

I did not smell any weed inside of Cosmo. On the strip was a whole other matter. As far as the balcony goes, it was a great view of the strip, and high enough not to be too noisy, but it wasn't worth more than a room at the V/P to me. At V/P, I ask for a mountain view so I can watch the sunrise and have less noise.

This is why we switched to V/P early. All we had to do was sign a waiver for him to use the gym. We all have different likes and dislikes, which is why Vegas stays so busy normally. There is something for everyone.

A short run may be fine, but running on concrete is not good for the joints. A short run for my son during this off-season is 7 miles. His body would take a pounding on concrete. Plus, he has asthma and strong smells can trigger it. The smell of pot triggers him almost instantly. Just walking through the casino floor to the room bothered him. Since we aren't around that at home, we didn't know how much it would affect him.

Yeah, I wasn't commenting on how or where your son should run. I was just saying I like running on the Strip early in the morning:)

I liked walking it myself, but the pot smell is getting out of hand. We took a Lyft even going from casino to casino to stay away from the smell. I don't know what it is about it, but it nauseates. I call it a sickeningly sweet smell.
