I also saw this one before. And likewise no comment on how. But I leave you with this thought:

Oh, I didn't realize it was the amazon link above, thought it was a link to this article about the hack (which is what was sent to me originally when I found out about this :) )

Fortunately clicking on the link doesn’t seem to have affected my Amazon Recommendations.

Not telling us how you came across this item may lead to some inaccurate speculation on our part. You may want to come clean...! :poke:

This is as clean as I can get! I do not need such makeshifts to totally control my subs! :) :) (That last sentence is tongue-in-cheek, for those who might think otherwise!) :)

I noticed it yesterday on a techie news site called TechDirt. As I grow older I'm getting more and more into this stuff.

Surf here for the article: https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20210111/08041046030/internet-connected-chastity-cages-hit-bitcoin-ransom-hack.shtml

In perhaps the most wince-inducing example of why your household items probably don’t need to be connected to the internet, we bring you
the news that a hacker took control of internet-connected chastity cages and demanded a Bitcoin ransom before releasing their hostages.

But first, let’s take a few steps back. A chastity cage is, put simply, a cage for penises that’s a popular accessory within the BDSM community.

And as Motherboard reports, the good people at the Chinese manufacturer Qiui decided to make a model called the Cellmate that’s locked
and unlocked through an app. And then a hack once again underscored how the internet of things often suffers from horrible cybersecurity.

I've heard that @dmr has been making a ton of these on her 3-D printer. :poke:
But that may be a phallusy. :D

Don't laugh, but there are countless files of "toys" out there that can be printed on 3d printers.

Yeah, eeeeek. My favorite review reads as follows:

"WARNING: Security Flaw Allows Hackers to Permanently Lock Device

Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2020

Do an internet search. Many news reports on how the app communicates with the lock uses an API that was left open and without a password, allowing anyone to take complete control of any user’s device."

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't want anything on or near my, um, stuff that can be controlled by someone I haven't approved.

Also, lots of the reviews are in German. I'm not sure what that means, but I feel like it means something.
