Binge watched Season 1 of Dickinson on Apple+. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this (I usually gravitate to action genre movies & shows).

Since Emily Dickinson is young in Season 1, it’s like a mashup of a period movie with a John Hughes coming of age movie. The younger characters speak using today’s slang & they use a soundtrack filled with contemporary music. I thought it was cleverly done. Season 2 starts in a few days.

    Netflix -

The Queen's Gambit - Excellent portrayal of substance abuse and chess at the highest levels. Ana Taylor-Joy's performance is Emmy worthy.
The Umbrella Academy - Comic book heroes attempt to save the world. It's well made.
Schitt$ Creek - Why did I wait so long to start watching this? The writing, acting and characters are excellent.

USA - Fargo, Season 4. I'm on Episode 4. Where else can you see Chris Rock portray a 1950's mob boss?

    Showtime -

Your Honor - Bryan Cranston once again shows why he is the premier actor of the 21st Century.
Shameless - The producers really botched this final season. They have reverted to greatest hits episodes. How many different times can we watch Ian and Mickey having sex. This show has sucked since Emmy Rossum left. Bill Macy is still good, in the first 3 episodes, anyway.

    HBO -

His Dark Materials - Fun Fantasy tale.
I'm wavering over Lovecraft Country. Any reviews from posters would be useful.

    Amazon Prime -

The Expanse, Season 5 - The Belters attempt to take over.
The Feed - Standard crap about the internet being implanted into people's brains. Filler waiting for something better.
Mr. Robot - Finished the series. This is one of the rare ones that I might watch again. It will keep you guessing every step of the way. What you thought you knew, you didn't know at all. 5 stars to Rami Malek. An excellent cast.

Terrible timing releasing a tv show based on a global flu pandemic/apocalypse.

As a full on fanboi of the books and a fan of the original tv show:
I am unnerved by the jumps forward and backward, left to right compared to the originals
Still haven't made up my mind on Nick Andros
Bill Fagerbakke will always be Tom Cullen but this one is pretty good as well.
Not much of a Whoopie fan.
Dialogue is too brisk at times and a detriment to drama.
Overall I have like it, not sure how those not familiar with source material would take it.

    Watched Roswell.
    Only 2 seasons.
Based on the ending I bet they were expecting a 3rd.

I watched the thrid season of Cobra Kai.

Well done. They brought back a bunch of old characters for short story arcs opened and closed them neatly.

I'm Looking forward to Season 4, but I'll have to wait (at least) 12 more months!!

Netflix has never been fast is producing new seasons and with covid many of their popular shows are delayed and extra 6-12 months. Witcher, Stranger Things, Grace & Frankie to just name a few will have almost a 2 year gap between episodes.

Just finished Cobra Kai... Lot's of good laughs.

Just started the newest episodes of Vikings. Glad to see old Ivar the Boneless finally getting some boning.

My favorite one-liner from Johnny this season had to be when he told his students at the park not to use that water fountain because he saw a methhead wiping his ass with it. I was dying with laughter.

I hopped on a HBO Max free trial with Hulu and binged a number of things over a course of a week:
    • Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy
    • Heroin: Cape Cod, USA
    • Leaving Neverland
    • Richard Jewell
Also just received a free 1-year subscription to Discovery+. That should keep me occupied through the winter.

New winter streaming show: Ozark on Netflix. I'm late to the party, but we can't watch all of it, all of the time.

So far I'm half way thru season 1. Show is intriguing, and I'm sucked in. I also happen to think the show is 10 times as preposterous as Breaking Bad.

Will I like it more than The Wire, which I spent last winter watching? Too early to know.

We just finished the first season of Imposters on Netflix. There are only two seasons but the first one was pretty intriguing and humorous.
