Let me preface this by saying this isn't a "dice setting" or "dice control" post. I'm wondering what you believe is the longest craps table in Vegas.

My choice is easy - Luxor. I am sure it's the same length as Excalibur and other tables, but it just seems longer.

These tables don't have that camaraderie when the table gets hot! In addition, pre-covid, they run slow because they can fit 8 on a side vs 6.

I think you are correct. Luxor does seem long. I've played at Bally's 3 times this year. If you are on the end by a dealer it seems like a very long toss.

I don't really notice the longer ones, or the ones that seem longer, but I really notice the shorter ones.

Sunset Station comes to mind as far as the shorter ones.

What I notice more often besides the shorter ones is the bounciness of the table surface. Some feel like there is a trampoline under the surface and some feel like they just put the felt over the plywood, lol!

Speaking of bouncy, Treasure Island! One time, I was literally playing the dice off people's mid sections, then back on the table. If the people were not there to block it, they would fly off.

I think the longest craps tables are at the Hooters Casino, at least 2 area codes long.

    Golden Gate's are long

    4Q's are short

Or at least that's my perception

I think the same thing would have happened to me when I played the South Point tables for the first time last February.

Problem was, it was only me, my SIL, and one other player on the table. There was no one to stop my rolls from bouncing off the table, lol! I was so embarrassed because every roll would bounce off the table, and I know I was throwing exactly how I throw at other tables. The more it bounced off the less confident I became, it was beginning to get in my head.

It was so bad that I asked my wife, BIL, and other SIL who were watching the game to position themselves at the opposite end of the table so they can pick the dice up as it flew off the table.

The final humiliation was when the boxman, after watching my SIL roll the dice, said "Throw it like she does....."

My SIL hardly ever plays the game. I was totally mentally and emotionally devastated, LOL!!!:( :haha: (And she won money to boot)

Yeah, its hard to fathom that there are tables longer than the ones at the Gate. Those make you constantly worry that you aren't going to hit the back wall and get scolded by the pit. Also, if you're standing at one end, its really tough to see the dice when they land at the other end.

I play some craps but never notice a difference in length.
    Size matters?
    What about width?

Just FYI, I was at the D right after they changed the felt on the crap table. Everybody who threw had the dice bounce off the table! People were trying not to throw the dice off the table but unless they were weakly throwing the dice it went off anyway. The pit crew said that they had to put in an order to change the padding under the felt since it was too "springy". Next day I went by and sure enough, they changed the padding so the dice wouldn't bounce off the table.

I was scolded by one of their boxmen 1-2 years ago for bouncing the dice off the table about 5 times in 7-8 throws.

My favorite dice bounce story came about 20 years ago at the Reserve (now Fiesta Henderson). Earlier in the session I had yelled at a don't bettor who was openly cheering for sevens to "kiss my ***" after I made a point. But later it was a full table and I was at one end with a couple of strangers. The guy next to me was rolling and the one of the dice bounced off the table and hit a big guy at the other end in the chest. Next roll, same thing happens. Happens a third time and the big guy grabs the die and whips in the air across the length of the table toward us! We were all doubled over laughing and one of the guys says "if this was the Bellagio, we'd have been kicked out by now!"

This is why I like Bellagio's, they're super short. Park MGM has the new 12 foot tables.

I just wish all the stick guys and gals would call out the numbers louder.

When you’re at the end of the table the 12’s start looking like 11’s and the 6-4’s look like 6–3’s and shit like that.

Palace Station. A die takes a strange bounce, flies off the table and down the neck of a guy's wife. She is a 60ish, conservatively dressed woman and the boxman says that he needs the die. She is so embarrassed and goes fishing for it as it obviously landed in her bra. The boxman said she switched dice and needs to search her for the correct one. The table erupted.
