4* Gila River Resort very convenient right next to an exit for the 10 freeway a little south of PHX (Chandler) that is your gateway towards Tucson ... also an outlet mall right there if you're looking to pick up some US stuff

 

Got here two hours early and barely made flight. Gazillion dollars in airport renovations with surcharges and taxes up the ass and they have TWO security gates and one Nexus line today. It was brutal.

Shuttle guys said this was busiest travel day since Covid.

 

Finally some luck!!! Two no shows and JR and I get a row to ourselves. JR found some last minute cleaning.

 

I expect a Royal Flush within 6 hours of landing.....

 

Omg...here is our rental car line up. I am having Seinfeld flashbacks here because they are renting cars to us but they DON’T have cars right now!!! What kind of a Jack is this???

 

Our original plan was to drive straight to Scottsdale. My kick ass wife just said, maybe we should just stay here tonight or maybe Laughlin. Where’s a good Sportsbook to watch football, she asked. Oh did I marry the right gal!!!! I think we are staying at MGM..... stay tuned.

For people renting Hertz who don't need the car for their whole trip, highly recommend at least checking what the rate is for picking up and dropping off at your hotel (Cosmo and CET).

I saw similar pics over the summer and did a 1-day rental picking up and dropping off at Cosmo for $34 all in and zero wait.

Of course, you'd have to pay for a cab/Uber in at least one direction to/from the airport, but in my case, the difference in price alone made it worth it, on top of not having to deal with the shuttle bus and any backups at the rental center.

 

Agreed!!!!! No car rentals right now at airport.

 

So...what was the over/under for us staying in Vegas today???? Pay the over!!!

 

I talked to MBs connection and our room was hooked up nicely at last minute.

Four drinks in after a stop at Sully’s. Down $100 sociable dollars. Was worth it. Rumours of this new chump beverage mgr cutting neck good booze are true. This will require a VMB revolt you guys.

Cross tables at Bally’s are $10 and $15.

We are off to Tucson early tomorrow so I MUST be in bed early!!!

 

My wife is 1/2 a drink away from falling into that tub she is filling up.

I'm jelly! Was supposed to go a couple weeks back but didn't mostly due to not knowing if Vegas was gonna be shut-down again. They didn't. Chalk up another loss for me.

Hope you guys have a blast.. looking forward to seeing what Vegas is like this NYE! We've been there 3 of the past 4 years, always the greatest place to be!
