I just went down a YouTube rabbit hole watching a few videos from this Wineking channel. I have no idea how this showed up on my feed, but the videos are shot in Southern California and the host is a young Korean guy with one or two of his wine mentors.

As for obscenely underpriced reds, in another video where he reviews 30 wines under $8, this one from Aldi was ranked very high. I think it was about $5.

Back when we frequently shopped TJs we were particular fond of the deals they had on Rhone blends, including Vacqueyras and Gigondas. And they'd often score a pretty damn good Burgundy.

Bread and Butter 2018 is excellent 4.0 on Vivino $15 but I recently bought it at Kroger for $10.

We also really like Pear Valley Pinot Noir but that is in the $25 range on sale.

    Both are very smooth.

Bard ... $7.50 or not, that Ballard Lane was fine. I'd not have been pissed to have paid full freight at $15.

Awesome! Let us know what you think. I have seen the vintages up and down but they hooked me years back for a bottle now and then.

It was, well, not good. Underdeveloped fruit and bitter.

I yield to the more experienced pallet. Perhaps I was drawn in by the ability of the screw top to access alcohol that much faster. Good luck on your quest and please share more results.

Screw tops are great. Hard for a bottle with a screw top to cork.

Mark West black label and Angeline Reserve are pretty good.

Not a price loss-leader but, hey, it's a Pinot. And quite stunning.

We had a 2018 Foley Rancho Santa Rosa Pinot a few nights back. A little young for Foley but we put in a case and wanted to check it out at this time.
