No idea why my brain decided to remember.

98% sure it was Imperial Palace.
One simple sound always made me smile and really let me know I'm in Vegas, time to have fun.

    SEECIGARS!, SEEGARITES!
    SEECIGARS!, SEEGARITES!

Then you would see the person behind the voice.
Tiny little woman with a massive tray of smokes strapped around her neck.

    Haha!

Hmm. Hadn’t thought of this and missing Vegas here too; though my memory is more cigars after cigarette and along the lines of...

    SEEGARETTES!, SEEGAROONS!
    SEEGARETTES!, SEEGAROONS!

Don’t ask me why cigar has an “-OON” sound in it... but I’ve found that to be etched in my memory.

    Cheers!

    Keno....Keno....Keno
It always made me think of someone wandering trying to find their lost dog Keno.

If we are doing "sound" memories. I recall sitting in a coffee shop in the 70s and hearing the telephone operator reporting almost continuously "telephone call for Mr. John Smith"...…"telephone call for Mr. Peter Brown"...…..

    That's a good one !
I would always play while eating breakfast in the coffee shop.
It was inexpensive entertainment waiting for coffee and eggs.
I don't know if is even offered anywhere now.

It was a soft, husky, beautiful, feminine voice that wafted into my ears, amid the yelling and cheering of the craps table. The table was jam packed, filled with sounds of the game in full gear.

"Would you like something to drink?"

I turned to see a beautiful Asian cocktail waitress. She had a slight smile on and one of her eyebrows was cocked in an inquisitive manner. Her voice took my breath away. I stood there with my mouth open and it seemed like a lifetime before I stammered:

    "Umm....not right now, thank you....I mean....wait.....can I have a Corona?"

"Would you like a lime with that?" Her eyebrow was still raised and her smile never wavered. "yyyyess.....ppplease."

She wrote it down and slid away, her smile never leaving her face.

I remember sliding two red chips to the side so I don't bet it. She gave me that same smile and said "Thank you, good luck!" when she came back with the drink.

I'm pretty sure I lost my ass that session but memories like this make up for it.

Yes, I do have a memory but it is much more recent/current. There is a particular CW at the Cal that works the floor. She calls out "drinks, cocktails!", and it is very distinctive. She is not loud, her voice just projects through out the casino. Some of you probably know who I am talking about. I have no idea what her name is but I know she is Asian or probably Hawaiian, 30ish. She has been there for as long as we have been going and that is about 10yrs. Sorry for the weak description.

I loved the IP. It was my go-to for many years—I even had a booth permanently reserved in the race book (my daughter could have gone to Harvard, Yale and Stanford at the same time for all the money I lost there).

I even figured out the room numbers and elevators in that hotel—and anyone who ever stayed there knew there was no rhyme or reason to the layout of the place. I often called it a Habitrail for people.

But, yes, I remember the ciggie girls and the waitresses—they wore short pseudo-Chinese style uniforms with pushed up bosoms.

The cacophony of chips walking into the World Series of Poker was a sound that made my spine tingle.

If we're on random Vegas things...

I was looking through random vegas photos yesterday. I found two random shots I took at the BJ table at PH that were two years apart.

Unbeknownst to me? Exactly same dealer.

I had to think this over for a while -
cos I don't see how it is possible ?
    .
But there was a floor cigarette waitress at The Stratosphere ( I stayed there alot )
who used that SAME ACCENT !?!?
I was with my wife and began imitating that voice + accent.
Her accent seemed almost Southeastern European ?
Her voice was almost a little " forceful " in intonation......like she was" pissed off" about saying " Cigaarrrrrettes !"
    Rolling that " R ".....
    .
So, I'm wondering ?........how can this be ?......
Is it some kind of " Franchise " deal ?......and they teach the woman to announce in the same manner ?

Tattooed? Love it, it's the opposite of the waitresses that whisper it and quickly squirrel away before anyone at the table can stop her.

Reminded me of a story we still laugh about, an elder waitress in Fremont, bless her hard working heart, that would always completely lose track of all the drink orders, and would come to the table like an auctioneer, just yelling out drinks until someone would claim them, "I got a red bull and vodka, Red Bull and Vodka!, going once, going twice...."

also a few trips ago I was delighted to learn they can call a cigarette girl (woman/person, whichever pronoun S(He)/they prefer) to the Chandelier bar at Cosmo. Hadn't seen one for years.

I don’t remember if she is/has any tattoos but her voice has a deep nasal tone to it. It’s not obnoxious, just distinctive.
