I never play VP in casinos. Craps, Slots, Pai Gow Poker and some other table games are my choices .... I dont think Ive ever played VP in NV.. maybe 2-3 minutes at NorCal Tribal.

Yet I see that its very popular among VMBers. Might be the most popular pics in trip reports.

I have a rudimentary understanding of what to keep or draw. But all of the lingo about types of games, how people choose specific game consoles/setups/options. I'm clueless.

Is there a good Android VP app that approximates real world play or options? Im heading to LV in 2 weeks, and thinking I should at least give VP a try.

    Unfortunately, not available on Android.

The only one on Android that I fully trust is "Play Perfect Video Poker". Unfortunately, it's at least $15. They do have a free version 'Play Perfect Video Poker Lite" that lets you see select features for select games to get a feeling as to how it works.

If you're looking for an app to just PLAY the games, then I recommend "Videopoker.com Mobile". If you become a "gold member" though, it will give you training advice for most games.

I recommend videopoker dot com. I also recommend the Pro subscription as being absolutely worth it if you ever intend to play a ton of VP for real money and you want to be proficient. Pro is also good if you have an itch for playing the most common VP games with the most realistic experience possible (the company behind the site, Action Gaming, also designs/invents the VP games found on IGT's machines -- by far the market leader in video poker machines) and with highly customizable options (buy-in amount and denomination being huge ones).

Is there any app where you can just enter in what the hand is and it tells you what to keep or discard? That's the level of novice I am lol.

The Play Perfect Video Poker apps have 3 modes of usage. One mode is what you desire - you can just enter in what the hand is and it tells you what to keep or discard.

The winpoker program is good if you have a computer it's compatible with. I agree with the others on the Play Perfect Video Poker app being a good option.

WinPoker works on Windows 10, although it might be a bit tricky to install. I downloaded it originally, paid my $30, copied it to floppy disk, then to CD, and finally transferred it to a thumb drive when CD's started going out of fashion. Still works great on Windows and I think maybe even ios. Have not tried that. I doubt the owner of the rights will pay to develop an Android version.

One caveat which is probably true for many players: VP games are not a lot of fun on a cell phone, at least not for me. Bigger is better.

Do either of these keep stats and tell you how you're performing over time? Been looking for a good trainer myself
