Fremont was the quietest I’ve seen it. Given, it was a Monday night. Hit The D, we were the only humans at Bar Canada, the casino was empty, but Vue Bar was still rocking.

Back to the strip, worked our way up from PH through Paris, Bally’s, Flamingo, tore apart some Giordano personal pies (that were very meh), then headed back to the Well.

Fun Fact: Sully's at Bally's has the same cool new curved screen VP machines they have at Circa! Also, cool 4OAKs brought to you by the pride of Eastern Illinois, CBS' new Madden, Tones Romes himself, Tony Romo.

So during the weekend i walked down to play at Cosmo a bit, and the north doors were shut and you had to go through security in the main doors and they'd only let you in if you were staying there or had a reservation at a restaurant. Now that it was Tuesday, it was wide open. Walked right in. There were some large banks of slots roped off and shut off, as if they were being worked on, and all of Block 16 except for Hattie B's and the donut place up front was closed. No Pok Pok, no Lardo. Holstein's was dark, Eggslut, Milk, etc.... weekdays were a whole different game than weekends. Lardo's sign is still my love language tho....

Lunch at China Poblano. Absolutely never fails to be amazing. A must do. So, so, so good.

Stop back at the LINQ to play at Re:Match some more, but by now the 25% ordinance took place so VP bars basically had 4 seats total available. After that, we literally played like 3 hours of Fortune Cup and had a blast. You can play forever and the stakes are as high or low as you want, and the best part? At the LINQ, the exit to the service bar is RIGHT NEXT TO THE GAME. So we couldn't get our drinks down fast enough. That was a big issue on this trip. With low crowds and cutbacks, drinks were harder to come by than ever before - except at the little Cromwell, where service was amazing per usual. Don't get me wrong, we weren't thirsty between vouchers and hitting VP bars and gift shops and CVS, but slots were tough. Fortune Cup at the LINQ, though, was a blast. Especially when my 50/1 Quinella came in!

In no particular order, a surprising win on a minimum bet at Cromwell, cool Flamingo shop logo, and an underrated slice at Fulton St. at Harrah's.

Finally, Instanbul, the shwarma place at the Grand Bazaar Shops, is a can't miss late night option. Late night is VERY limited right now, and this place was hot fire. Don't sleep on the fries either. If anyone had witnessed me destroying this on my bed that last night, I'd be cloaked in eternal shame. #worthit

I too prefer DAL and Southwest over DFW/AA even though we live close to DFW.

Have you been to Texas Live and if so, does the Circa book remind you of it?

Yep! It's at CP right as you enter the "old" casino past the statue of David!

Honestly, not much else to report - the last day Cromwell gave me a 2pm checkout and I used every second to lounge in the room and recover. My friends went to Maxie's, said it was outstanding. LAS was a snap (even on the day before Thanksgiving), and another smooth flight home to DAL.

Another great trip to Vegas, even if the vibe (on the weekdays) was way different. Never felt remotely unsafe, Metro PD and yellow shirts were out in force, and all the employees we came across desperately want to stay open and were doing a masterful job of making sure people stayed masked up and distanced while doing it was tact and a smile. Not an easy gig these days. Everyone we came across was happy to comply and was happy to be in Vegas.

Back for the wedding in March, but eyeing a birthday trip with some work buddies (first timers!) in February before then. #VLV!
