I'm curious if anyone else has used this. Back in July I stayed at CP on a comp and selected an Augustus Fountain view for $35ish a night. I was perfectly fine paying that in hopes of receiving that upgrade. Anyways I got it. However I was never charged for this... Maybe they forgot to charge me or got lucky.

In September I stayed at Bally's on a comp. Once again I did the E-Standby Upgrade for a Jubilee Strip view for like $20 a night. Got the upgrade again, and once again not charged...

I'm just a base Diamond, very low roller. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have a comp reservation booked at Planet Hollywood in December. I'm thinking about pushing my luck and doing the E-Stand By Upgrade for the Ultra Hip Panorama Suite for $223/night. If I don't get lucky and am charged, anyone been in this suite before? Worth it for $223 a night?

Last time I used the E Standby upgrade I was charged and so was my sister when she stayed at Bally's. I did the checkout process via my TV at Caesars and saw the upgrade charge so not sure how you got away with the upgrade fee. I am Diamond Elite also. Good luck on trying again and if you do in fact get that $223 upgrade comp then let us know lol that would be an amazing deal but I would temper expectations.

I can see the room category upgrade but not the jump to the suite. Rate-wise, you might do better than $223 asking about a suite at check-in. But good luck and let us know what happens!

It’s huge, I think 1200 sq ft. I can’t seem to find the other pics on my camera roll but most recently we stayed in July of 2019. I may have done a trip report and had pictures of the view, I can’t remember. Our room was comped, so I’m not sure I’d spend that much for an upgrade, unless you spend a lot of time time in the room. I did spend a lot of time watching fountain shows and the Eiffel Tower changing colors at night. If you like tubs, this one is the bomb!

I have gotten the specific upgrades you got, gratis, just for being earned diamond on multiple occasions. For those minor steps up I usually just request at checkin, and up until July of this year I had a 100% success rate.

I've also experienced the nightly e-upgrade cost being higher than the cost to just reserve the upgraded room so pass on that. The only thing I would use them for is upgrade from base room to suite, if it was cheap. Like I have the studio suite at Ballys on my comp calendar and they usually offer me executive suites for 15 to 19 per night on standby. I'll take those just to get the deep jetted tub, but so far I have ended up always replacing those reservations with something better at MLife or Cosmo so havent seen it in action yet.

I think the only time I requested one and got it was at caesars palace when I moved from Octavius to Augustus fountain view, and I was not charged. I know some folks have mentioned using the Octavius premium to Palace Studio Suite upgrade for 20 to 25 a night at Caesars Palace and got it, and paid for it, but I've also seen people not request the e-standby, just ask at checkin, and get it free.

So if you have decent comps at a place and are checking in via a diamond lounge, I'd not recommend using them in any other case than a cheap jump-up from a base room to a large suite which they arent likely to give you free. For example, I had a comp octavius premium room with a $100 per night e-standby for Augustus spa suite, which I thought was worth the $100 per night because its normally 500 to 1200 per night, so I requested that one because I know at least 99% of the time theres no way they're just going to give me that full comp for the asking at my play level. I didnt end up getting it though so still paid $0 out the door.

I don't know that it's the exact same offer...

May, 2018. I booked a comp room at CP. Signed up for an upgrade online, availability to be determined day of check in. Awoke to an email that I got the upgrade... headed to airport, feeling good. Arrived CP to be given original room. Told they misjudged, needed the room, downgraded me. Furthermore, because of changes, other elements of offer gone... no food and beverage. I got a horrible runaround through many different departments. I ended up no-playing CP, and haven't gambled a dime in a Vegas CET property since

I'll let you know what happens.

Was staying at Planet Hollywood a few years ago on a comp as a Diamond. Was able to e-standby the Panorama Suite for basically rack. At check in was offered the upgrade at above rack. Their system is a joke. Oh and that is after I offered $2,000 for one night in their Bay Spa Suite which they declined.

If you can get the Panorama for $200ish it is worth it. Wouldn't pay $400 something for it.

We had a 3 Bay Suite in February for our anniversary. It was impressive. One of our favorite features was the ice machine in the bar area.

Anyone know if you earn the 5x TC for the Estandby upgrade charge?

I meant for non promotion. You always get 5x TC for room rate paid. Not sure if “Upgrade” charge counts for that.

I am checking into PH for 2 nights beginning one week from tomorrow and have a comped King Fountain view and a paid King Fountain view. I was looking on my Caesars app this morning and found an eStandy offer for the paid room only at $180 per night extra to upgrade to the Ultra Hip Panorama Suite.

I never saw an emailed offer, so if anyone hasn't seen an emailed offer but is looking for the upgrade you might try the app. I am 8 or so days from arrival and dont recall seeing this offer last week.

I wonder if casinos would ever do the reverse and make an offer to bump a guest in a reserved suite when a higher value player wants a suite.

Much like airlines will offer to bump in exchange for travel credits and meals, or switch to another flight completely.

I would always give up my suite for some extra freeplay and food.

@maxev Well, you're not too far off-- casinos will typically provide some kind of compensation when they bump someone out of a suite for a higher value player, but the person being bumped doesn't get a choice. They can ask for more compensation and they might receive it, but they're getting bumped no matter what.

Update - I was charged this time, for the Panorama Suite.

Hoping to earn the 5x TC for this as you earn for normal hotel room rate. I checked out on the 21st. If these points post as 5x by the 31st I'll be Diamond Plus. We'll see what happens...
