We have it for 68 cents in Canada BUT they aren't pop top cans like Ken's. Maybe Californian's pay extra for high tech convenience. ;)

I like the fact that it is "great for cooking" instead of "great for eating"......

If you dry it out a bit it's a doable substitute for bondo.

Haha no, I had converted it already. It's 89 cents CAD so 68 USD. But I like the sounds of 51 cents!

Half gallon of boiling water and 6 tea bags, steep for about 45 minutes. Add about a quart of ice and Splenda if you like, I just use lemon. That stuff in the jug looks pretty dark, so you might need more tea.

Normally $1.69 here. Currently on sale for $1. Maybe it's pricey on the coasts?

Or run it through your coffee maker (bunn) and forget the 45 minutes!

Paper towels. Shelves are totally bare.

Body wash, the unscented type. There are some of the antibacterial.

Walmart porridge oats. There are three types. I don’t eat these but will pick them up for my friend since she can’t go into stores very often.

We're back to limited selections of toilet paper and paper towels with information coming out about the current spike in cases and talk of possible restrictions.

I have a friend who sells to supermarkets and a family member who works for a Coke distributor. The product lines are not a big part of our grocery list, but both report shortages due to lack of raw materials for packaging and other issues. Campbell's soup comes to mind as one mentioned as having issues keeping stock moving.

I have been selling in the food biz for 35 + years, and when I was working for a food broker, the company picked up a line of frozen dinners, whose reputation was at best questionable. The manager who was responsible for selling this line into several grocery chains in our area began his spiel with this little gem, “Folks, there’s some food that’s made for eating, and there’s some that’s made for selling.” He left no doubt we were really going to have to convince frozen food managers that people were really willing to buy this product.

As one of the original latchkey children I ate a lot of their frozen "food" when I was a kid. I think the main ingredient is salt. Kept me alive. Nothing more.

This latchkey kid learned to make kraft mac and cheese at age 6 (stovetop - microwave version didn't come out until much more recently...) Never looked back ;-) Costco case of Annie's in my pantry to this day....

Some demographers seem to think Gen X was the poster child for latchkey but it appeared during the war and as a tail-end boomer it was our way in the '60s and early '70s for sure.
