I hadn't planned to book the Tiffany offer, but I did at Planet Hollywood.

It was automatically cancelled and moved to Paris ("free upgrade," they stated in the email) because PH is closed on Monday. If I'm at Paris, I might as well be at Caesars, so I called up the call center to change. Then they said my Paris room was a Burgundy Premium Suite, and I said ooh la la, okay keep the room as is.

Arrived at Paris today and the room was a regular room with a strip view. No record of it ever being a suite. I asked about what made it an upgrade, and they said it takes more play to get a room at Paris than PH.

I put on my disappointed masked face look, and the front desk calls a host on duty and they get me to a petit suite. Without a view. Which is all fine, because I didn't really care about the room, I just wanted a refrigerator to store my daily free drinks.

Paris had no information on the Tiffany offer, other than what was listed in my booking email (above) and that I have to go to Caesars to pick up the gift card, and that there are shopping hours.

Shopping hours? Do I have to spend the gift card immediately?

In these days of COVID, why couldn't they make it an e-card (like they were patting themselves on the back awhile ago with the Amazon gift cards), or allow freeplay? And why make me go to Caesars, when I would've just booked Caesars in the first place. Actually, the last part could probably be chalked up to them being short-staffed from the layoffs.

I'll likely play blindly at Paris without knowing about the play up offer, and then visit Caesars to see where I stand, getting the info and gift card together.

In any event, this seems to be one confusing promotion.

And I don't even care about Tiffany, I'll probably just give away the gift card or put it on eBay.

I just received information on the Tiffany offer -- too bad I did the bulk of my play after 5 p.m. Saturday, when the earning period ended.

So they make you go to Caesars, because it's not just a gift card -- it's a gift card that expires that day, and you have to use it at the Tiffany at the Forum Shops.

Wish they'd told us that at the beginning, because I would've used a different offer. And don't know why they wouldn't allow a freeplay equivalent, considering the Tiffany stuff is a hard comp to them.

With CETDORADO you have to read the fine print in the offer nowadays. Unfortunately, you don’t see the fine print until you get there and even then.......?????

The document @maxev attaches states ”Internal Use Only” so good luck normally getting that even if you were on property.

I too was wondering why the Tiffany offer had no free play option. Looks like the January CET purse offers don’t have free play options either.

Way back when that happened to me for a Tourneau watch, which was in the Caesar's shops. They provided a gift card only in that store and had to be used that day. I ended up being forced to buy a watch and then sold it later on ebay.

Yeah, I wasn't supposed to have that information, but I tried to charm the desk into allowing me to take a picture, as we commiserated about how little information Caesars gives not just the guests but the desk folks too.

Found out that each player is also only allowed just 1 play up offer. So if you had the $200 gift card, you could earn 1800 TCs and get another $200 gift card. But if you earned 2500 TCs (as I did), you could not get the $250 gift card. Strange that they would limit you, since they'd want to encourage more play. I mean, why would they deny someone the $1000 gift card if they played 20,000 TCs?

But I suppose we weren't privy to knowing there were other tiers, and had I checked into Caesars first, they probably would've told me that I was eligible for another $200 gift card at 1800 TCs and nothing else.

So it was a wash for me, since I did the bulk of my play after Saturday at 5 p.m., which is when the earning period ended. And I wouldn't have been able to get the higher gift cards anyway.

I picked up my $400 gift card in a nice Tiffany bag and wrapped box, and the desk asked if I was given a shopping time when checking in. Paris gave no information at all, and the desk said there shouldn't be many people shopping on the last day.

When I got to Tiffany, they saw my bag and my deer-in-headlights look, and assumed I was on the Caesars promotion. They asked my name, checked it off a clipboard (very few names on it), and assigned me a guy to help me out/get commission.

I ended up with a penguin ornament ($125) and a keychain ($250). The guy mentioned I could get the keychain engraved for $38. I was thinking 3 words, he was thinking 1 letter. Scrapped that idea. With tax, I went over a bit and paid $6.

Maybe the silver keychain will bring me luck more than my crappy ugly leprechaun keychain from WMS.

Also, when I went upstairs to the ballroom, there were no signs directing me to the Tiffany event. But there were signs leading to a golf offer.

Golf offer? I didn't receive anything on that. Maybe it was just to "A" codes.

Popped into the ballroom to check it out, and saw that they had golf clubs and a virtual golf simulator demo.

I'll have to check out the upstairs ballrooms more often to see what other kinds of higher tier offers people are getting. I did that one time and ended up in a dentistry convention, and helped myself to their free buffet.

One more thing -- when I picked up the gift card, I asked why they weren't doing a freeplay equivalent.

He said it was an Eldorado decision, that they prefer players leave with an immediate gift. I can see how players would leave casinos in a positive light this way (the same way I have some weird satisfaction grabbing a bunch of the free masks when I leave a Caesars property), but too bad about those who have flights before they can do their shopping.

I suppose we'll see more of these types of offers, where it's specific to Caesars Palace and one or more shops that they have an agreement with in the Forum Shops (I wasn't able to go to Tiffany at Bellagio, for example). No more re-gifting the gift cards, we'll have to now re-gift the gifts.

Would be really interesting to learn what HV stands for and how it's calculated. It seems like they're willing to comp roughly half of it back in bonus value while you only earn about 10-20% back of your theo on the TC portion.

I figured they get a kickback or discount from Tiffany. At those prices Tiffany could discount, probably hope someone will buy a $$$$ item.
    I like the leprechaun.

The golf offer is the kind that requires you to...
    • play enough to do Platinum in a Day (PIAD) every single gaming day -- and not from playing decent-not-awesome video poker
    • have an executive host in the Vegas market
If you are (capable of effortlessly) doing $45k coin-in per day on slots, a full bag of custom-fitted golf clubs is to you what $10 of weekly FP would be for most of us. Basically, the golf offer is the kind of offer that targets higher-level Seven Stars players for whom the play-up is barely a stretch.

This is interesting...Eldorado is going to force you to take a gift instead of free play. I understand that, because if you lose all the free play you leave with a sour taste in your mouth, but if you take a gift you leave with something that you will remember "oh yeah, I got that wine storage unit, those golf clubs, that Tiffany keychain, and that laptop from Caesars last year." HOWEVER, I nearly always would prefer the free play rather than the gift, so future promos will possibly be less tempting for me.

I wouldn't be so sure about the comment that Caesars prefers gifts over free play. This promo was targeted this time of year because of the holidays. Whereas the tv offer next month does have free play but the purse offer doesn't. I think we may see a variety of offers.

Right, I feel Caesars would still offer physical gift cards and e-cards like they have in the past. The Tiffany, Forum Shops, purse, etc. offers where you're forced to shop, would be in addition, I would think (or hope).

I noticed that January's $150k slot tournament is at the same time as their $150k blackjack tournament. I don't remember an overlap like that before, but maybe Eldorado is trying different things to see what appeals most to players.

I definitely know I won't be taking any of these shopping offers, unless there are no other offers.
