    My Trip Report

I am sitting at Newark airport waiting to board my flight. It feels surreal because I basically took a 90 minute cat nap earlier this morning after I finished packing around 2:30 am, and I will confess that I am a tad more nervous about this trip than the last one, but I will be as vigilant as ever on the health and safety front, while hopefully once again having a relaxing and fun experience. This time though the plan at least is to win BIG AND bring it home. :) We shall see!

I never finished sharing some photos from my October trip and now there are too many photos way back on my phone LOL, but even a month+ later, I think about the experience I had at the Wynncore slot tournament, which was AMAZING, even though I didn't win a dime! The health and safety set up was extremely well thought out, the food, open bar, coffee bar, and trail mix bar were just PERFECTION, and in the room where we dined, which was different from the room where we played, there was a guitarist who performed. I wondered why I almost felt like crying while having an amazing breakfast waiting to play and then I realized it was because it was the first time I had heard a live performance, in person, since the pandemic began. The guitarist played so beautifully and you could feel how grateful he felt to have a gig. I left a healthy tip, thanked him and encouraged him to hang in there.

What I also didn't yet share pictures of was the amazing meal I had with @eliza at CUT, our first time dining there. Once again, that experience -- as are almost all of my Wynncore experiences from my last trip -- is still very much with me, which is telling. @dbueler and I will be dining there in a few days and I am looking forward to it.

This is about the fifth year that I have spent Thanksgiving week in Las Vegas, typically for a solo trip though last year my law school BFF and goddaughter joined me as we celebrated her 21st birthday.

This trip, 10 nights in total, with the first half in a Wynn Parlor Suite (my first time!) and the second half in an Encore Parlor Suite (also my first time!), will be part solo and part connecting with a number of VMBers. I am looking forward to it!

Dining reservations have been made, including to new places (for me) such as Piero's and Carbone. No slot tournaments but my host called me earlier this week to see if I wanted to attend a comedy show -- seating is 200 max and spread out in the XS club -- and I said yes. That should be another interesting experience.

I renewed my membership to the Neon Museum and also became a member of the Mob Museum. And I purchased an annual National Park Service pass. I am planning to see Brilliant again, visit the Mob Museum for the first time in many years, do the Red Rock loop (finally!), see Seven Magic Mountains, and tour the holiday light show at the Ethel M Cactus Garden. All reservations have been made and timed tickets have been purchased.

I have a mega massage at the beginning and end of the trip and may splurge on a mani pedi again.

There will be many wonderful meals.

    And hopefully many major jackpots.

Lots of relaxation and exploration and spending some quality time and safely, primarily outside, with some VMBers.

Okay, decided again to be the last person to board and everyone is on the plane except for three of us.

    Later!

    OOOOOOOOO

    MMMMMMM

    GGGGGGG

I had read that MiNT just "refreshed" the MINT amenities, where were already fantastic. Well, Jet Blue just took it to yet another level.

All part of various amenity kits, plus menus. The big square gray thing is soft and the pillow and blanket are inside.

    OMG. BRAVO JET BLUE!

Safe flight, Flowers! Haven't been on here much lately and I know I've missed a ton of great TRs including the latter half of your previous report as well as some parts of your brother's report. I'll be trying to follow this for its ten-day duration though :)

Looks like an awesome lineup of amenities in Mint. Loving all those detailed photos, keep them coming!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Piero's and Carbone. As I'm sure you know, the osso buco and the veal parm are respectively each of the "must-have" dishes there. I can also still taste the cocktail sauce from the shrimp cocktail at Piero's... that is one remarkably memorable dish.

Also looking forward to hearing about the museum visits. One semi-related non-Vegas question in that vein... have you ever heard of/been to the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati? I came across it by total accident just a couple of weeks ago, and if you like the Neon Museum as much as I did (which I'd suspect is the case if you're a member there :) ) I thought this would be right up your alley. Montage video below if this is new to you, or anyone reading this.

Following along, I predict you'll have a handpay sometime tomorrow morning, and I hope you prove me wrong by getting one much sooner :)

I am going to have water, then the Black Maple Old Fashioned, some more water, and then black coffee. For breakfast I am choosing the macerated blueberries (not sure what that is -- lol), the whipped ricotta with braised figs and the blueberry quinoa pancakes. And I noticed that "Maple-glazed bacon available upon request." I asked if it counted as one of the three dishes we could pick and the answer was no, it is in addition to whatever three of five I would like, so I am havin' some bacon too. :feedme:

I'm always so jealous of your Mint flights. In Florida, that only exists in Ft Lauderdale and only goes to LAX from there I think, so jts not worth all the extra time it would cost me but dang that looks sweet.

I'm boarding a plane in a little over 4 hours to begin my journey, but stopping in Burbank for a couple nights on my way so I wont get to Vegas until Sunday. And I'm right there with you being more nervous about this trip than I ever have been. Really considered cancelling, but I didn't. So, fingers crossed and masks on. And I hope the governor doesn't kick us all out on Tuesday. It's unlikely but another reason to make me nervous about this one. Enjoy your flight!

    More info.

The flight attendant tells me there are four different kinds of Wanderlust amenity kits depending on the time of day you are flying, so morning flights I assume are more of a pick me up verses red eye flights more calming, my guess is lavender. JB is dropping the mic.

I don't work for Jet Blue. Really. Just lovin' the airline. Love that they proceeded with the investment and stepped up their game even more in the middle of an economic crisis for them, the industry and the country.
