    My Trip Report

    Cheers:

-Scoring a fountain view at Bellagio with the $20 trick on a $109 room rate! This pic is a view from our room on the 16th floor.

-The size of the rooms at Bellagio

-Going on Mon-Thursday....the street was not crowded and the casinos were not either....it was very comfortable to walk around this time. I have never seen Vegas so dead in all the trips we have taken. It was nice.

-Stage Deli inside Caesars Mall (always excellent!)

-Winning $170 on the first video slot of the trip (2 cent machine)

-The 4 guys from Canada that we played BJ with on our 2nd night.....betting hundreds like they were pocket change...drinking Yaeger bombs like they were water, splitting tens and winning...doubling on BJ and winning.... and giving us some good laughs along the way!

-2 comped Buffets at Mirage and 1 comped meal at California Pizza Kitchen

-RONN LUCAS......definitely one of the best shows at a great price! I bought the VIP seats online at Vegas.com and ended up front row. Not bad for under $80 total with tax and all! I was able to score a "part" in the show.....his buddy Billy the Kid decided that he was "in love" with me and I became the center point for his whole bit....it was hilarious as hell and I left with a stomach ache from laughing so hard. Ronn is so nice, I was able to get an autograph and a picture after the show. I was like a child meeting Santa for the first time -- ok, I'm a dork but I have been watching him for almost 20 years...I was 11 years old when his Disney Channel show first aired and I loved it. Since then I have tried to catch clips of him here and there when I can. So, I was a happy camper!

-DANNY GANS.......OMG we were amazed at the amount of talent this man has. After $100/ticket, we were very pleased that the show was worth it. He is one great entertainer.....his voice is strong as hell, his band was outstanding and his show was full of energy and comedy. We loved it and will probably go back and see it again on our next trip.

-The Fontana Bar's fountain patio and their sour apple martinis. This was the first time I had seen my hubby drink anything other than a beer....in 10 years!

    View from the patio

-The Super Spin Wheel of Fortune video slot....we won about $70 at MGM (would've been about $370 if my husband had played max coins!!!) and $240 at the same machine inside PH....plus a T-shirt!! OOOHH AHHH........Well that slot is a lot of fun, no wonder the seats are always full. Next time instead of losing all of our money to multiple machines, we might was well lose it all to this one and have fun doing it right?

-Casino War @ Paris...now, I never play this and swore I never would but we were bored and losing our a$$ at BJ so I sat down at a $5 table and played for a little bit.....won every hand for about 10 hands and walked.

-Margaritas at Fat Tuesday.....good price, $9.50 for a souvenir cup and a VERY strong concoction......mmmm....it was great for my last drink of the trip

-The cocktail services...mostly was very good wherever we went....kept me well watered even when I wasn't playing but my husband was. The Canadians got a rude response from their server once because they were ordering 2 rounds at a time and not tipping at all. I personally would've done the same thing. My husband and I make sure to tip each time and we tip our dealers as well, winning or not.

-The Italian Gelato place inside Bellagio.....had the coconut, it was to die for!

    Jeers:

-To ALL of the BJ we played on this trip.....luck was no where to be found. Even though we left the tables with money a few times, we still were way down for the whole trip.

-The Elvis slots at NYNY, in previous trips these machines had been kind to us.....not this time!!

-The weather.....on the second day we had 30-50 mile per hour winds that the news said only happens in the winter time! They shut down the fountains and the Eiffel Tower for most of our trip. The dust was blowing around so bad that it was getting into our eyes and when we got back to the hotel that day, you could just feel the dirt sticking to your skin...it was gross.

-Strip construction.....not only did it contribute to the dust storms, it looks bad. Some of the strip has lost it's splendor to me because of all of the cranes, hammering, scaffolding, dirt, bulldozers, loud noises...etc.... Just not nice to walk around in anymore.

-Margaritaville Restaurant....we ate there in Orlando once and it was excellent. This time I asked for Med. Rare and they bring me a well done burger that was like biting into a rubber tire. Our server apparently thought he was at a Jimmy Buffet concert because I wondered the whole time if he waw smoking pot between the trips to our table. He sure seemed to be feelin good...

-I was sick almost the entire trip with laryngitis. Started to get my voice back on the last day. Got an incredible stomach ache on the second night...for 6 hours I was in pain, not able to sit down or really move much in any way....I just stood next to my hubby at the BJ table....I wanted to play but I was too distracted from the pain. Not sure if that was the Mirage's buffet come back to haunt me.........also had an aggravated pain in my shoulder and arm from a pinched nerve that just wouldn't go away the ENTIRE trip, plus arthritis in my right hip that was flared up as well....yep, I'm falling apart and I'm only 30!

-Pai Gow poker at PH....we learned a new game thanks to the pit boss at PH...he introduced us to it saying that it was a slow game and that you break even most of the time etc....a good game if you just want to burn some time and have a few drinks yada yada.....RIGHT, Everything that was NOT supposed to happen, happened.....the dealer won almost every time (BOTH hands) and we were quickly wiped out. Thanks alot dude....

-Free play at both Bellagio and the Venitian......didn't win crap.

-"Point" play at MGM....you must have at least 1000 points to get $10 in free play. When you consider that every $1.50 circulated through the machine is 1 point.....what a rip off!

-The fact that after 11pm, the only thing open for snacks inside the Bellagio is the Cafe....I don't want to sit down for a meal at 330am! I just want to take a damn sandwich to my room and relax.....that's just stupid, this is Vegas right????

-Mega Jeers to the lady sitting with us (next to my husband) and the Canadians....she had to have been in her late 50's...fairly attractive but dumb as dirt. She would put $10 out there and the Canadian guy next to her (who was drunker than crap and wanting so bad to get her into his bed....) would play $100 under her chips. If the hand won, he would give her the money! She would keep saying "Oh, I don't know what I am doing **dumb laugh...hehehe**" "Wow, did I win?? **dumb laugh....hehehe**"....this went on for hours and she walked away with over $1500 on a $100 buy in thanks to that drunk dumbass sitting next to her. Everytime she would laugh that stupid laugh, I wanted to slap her right out of her chair! Not to mention she kept putting her nasty hand on my husband's leg...... Bitch, I should've been sitting in that chair!! She went on and on about how her husband was going to crap his pants if he knew what she was doing, but when he walked over and saw the stack of black chips, he wasn't complaining at all! Yeah, it's great when you are able to win someone else's money and keep it!

-To all of my "dreams" of winning -- I did play the Munsters machine at Monte Carlo like in my dream.....no, I did not win $23,000...my money was gone in less than 2 minutes! So much for superstition.

Overall, the trip was good but was not a profitable one. We left about $950 down for the trip....not including paying for the room and shows....so if you add those in, then we were down about $1600 total. Not much to some people but a huge reality slap to us. In many, many trips to Vegas we usually come back ahead.....not this time. We have decided to take a breather and instead of coming back in a year, we will probably wait about 2 this time. I do plan on coming back in March with my mother to see Bette Midler and Danny Gans again, but it will not be a gambling trip....

Here are a few more pics from the trip (we didn't take many this time):

The new Beatles Revolution lounge. It is pretty cool from the outside....we didn't go in but I would like to next time.

GORGEOUS pic of the fountains and properties across the street from your room! Looks like a postcard!

Thanks for the TR -- wish you could have won, but glad you had a great time!

Great report! I love it when they include photos.
I would have to say that was a good 20.00 investment!

Loved the pictures with the TR. Sorry that the trip wasn't profitable but, except for "she kept putting her nasty hand on my husband's leg...... Bitch" episode it sounds like you had a pretty good trip.

ttig34 -- what a great memory you have! Nope we didn't end up doing it. And good thing too because this trip, we lost our A$$.....maybe next time. Hubby just couldn't justify comfortably spending almost $300 for a massage.

Ah, I remember those winds well. We were across the street at PH and couldn't agree with you more about the construction dust blowing about that night (I think it was Tuesday). A person practically needed to have a breathing mask on.
Also agree with how all the construction takes away from enjoying the Strip as much.
    Nice TR.

weluvvegas, great trip report! We were staying at Wynn on June 5th, in room 6055, the night the winds howled. Since we're from Florida, reminded us of a going through a hurricane. Later in the week, we moved to the Bellagio; $20 trick got us a fountain view room on the 16th floor also.

Great report and photos...we were there from the 3rd through the 7th...used the 20 dollar trip to get a fountain room at Bellagio...the winds really were something....we tried to have dinner at Bellagio around 11 I think...started out in the line at the Cafe....there were a bunch of workers...don't know if they were hosts/hostesses or wait staff just standing around talking while there were many empty tables and a fairly long line...don't know if they didn't have enought staff to fill the tables or what but it made my husband mad and we left....that was our only Bellagio gripe...other than the huge fees for recieving and sending faxes....something we had not planned on doing but had to...Thanks again for your report and especially the pics!
