Sorry to ask such a question but are there places that have public restrooms open (like Starbucks in Barstow) along the drive from LA to Vegas?

I’m an old guy who could never survive a 5 hour drive without a break & I haven’t driven to Vegas since 12/19.

There are truck stops along the route, and those will definitely be open. I find Love's to generally have clean restrooms.

Also, being in the same boat as you, I'd be sure to have an empty Gatorade bottle. Just in case.

There are two seemingly always clean rest areas between Barstow and Primm. It's also a big huge desert so you don't need your bottle.

I saw some joint on food channel called the MadGreek...not sure which byway it's on, but it said it was a popular stop.

Eddie World in yermo has clean bathrooms and a lot of stalls/urinals. Easy on and off too.

The shell on Cima rd sucks. Horse trough to piss and and only 1 shitter.
Use the rest area near there if you are in between baker and primm.

Just before Barstow there is a outlet mall with restrooms, at State line there is another outlet mall and casinos, there fast food places in Barstow and Baker you can use. There are 2 rest stops, one between Barstow and Baker.and another between Baker and Stateline.

We didn't encounter any closed rest stops at all once we hit the 15 and picked up the LA traffic. I'd say you will have no issues.

Unless something has changed in a big way in the last 8 months, the restrooms at the AMPM in Baker are certifiably filthy. Avoid if possible.

The best restrooms are along the rural route at the train depot - cum national forest service office in Kelso. But that's one of the only restrooms on that entire route so it might not work for you. And it makes most sense coming from Palm Springs.

It's in Baker. Nothing to write home about. Expect captive audience pricing.

Barstow Station should be open. It's right off the freeway—East Main, I think. Easy on, easy off. Actually has two bathrooms, one upstairs, along with a McDonald's, a Subway and a convenience store. Baker has a big gas station on its most southern end (so you get off at the first exit) with restrooms and convenience store. And, as Ken2v mentioned, there's a rest stop between Baker and Primm. At Primm, there are 3 casinos and two large gas stations—although not sure if Buffalo Bill's is open right now.

You can always stop and use a vacant room at the Royal Hawaiian! :) :) :)

Seriously, Victorville, Barstow, Baker, Primm all have Junk Food Alley strips, plus truck stops and such. There are, as mentioned, rest areas, but for the many times that I've done that stretch, at least one of them tends to be closed.
