    Whoah, good tip!

I've always Ubered to a 24-hour laundromat, so it might be nice to throw a few bucks of play at Skyline to get on their comped list (rooms look to be $69 + tax and no resort fee). Uber to Skyline from the Strip is about $22. Could be worth using for an interim hotel in between 5-day stays at Caesars. And I wouldn't be risking my life or health (no air conditioning at the laundromat I frequent).

People ask me why I don't just use the hotel's laundry service, and I say I could just toss my current clothes and buy new ones at the outlet mall for that price.

I'm curious about Sunset Station - this is off my beaten path, and I'd like to see that Gaudi bar in action, now that bars are open.

I stayed there when MyVegas had free nights. I loved it when I first walked in, the casino ceiling is painted like a sky - just like Paris. I hated it after three nights (MyVegas let you book 3 nights at Station casinos way back when) because I was so isolated from the rest of Vegas. I don't drive so it was too long of a stay for me.

Yeah it does seem isolated but I’m curious about the neighborhood for future retirement places, and it’s close to Ethel M’s! I figure I will hit it for a night or maybe 2 next visit, then move on to the strip.

Sunset Station is good for a night, or two. Long walk to the casino from the rooms. No in room safes, have to use one at the main desk. I hate Gaudi's style so I avoid the place.
Nearby Sunset Station is Skyline Casino. They just built their hotel a few years ago so the rooms still have a new feel to them. Also, very good diner for breakfast to start your day and great vp.
Longhorn Casino hotel is a Super 8 (Motel 6?) just like Ellis Island. If I had to pay for a hotel room in LV I wouldn't mind being in either place. Ellis Island was rehabbed in the past few years.
Boulder Station is a decent hotel as is Arizona Charles Boulder Hwy. Much cleaner than you would expect based on location

UPDATE: For some reason, the rooms here never seem to dip below $70 for all the dates I have tried. But. WHY. If I am going to pay $70/night, I am going to try a less murderous dump, which sucks because it was honestly a good choice. Rooms are better than expected, restaurant gets rave reviews. Casino is too tiny to go degenerate all night long. Too far from everything to want to venture out on work nights, huge plus there. I need to sleep on work nights.

$70 for that joint seems about $35 too high.

I'm interested in staying at Tuscany and was wondering about the transportation. I've taken the 202 from Gold Coast to Sam's a few times, so I presume I've gone right by it. Correct? If you're staying there and using RTC to get back and forth to the strip is the 202 your best option? Is there a stop fairly close in both directions. Can you get across Flamingo without walking too far? And lastly, do they have taxis readily available, or is it like Sam's where you have to call for one and hope they show up? I realize that your past experience may not be the case now.

For me personally I don't use transportation as I can walk to the Strip from Tuscany in about 10 minutes and I have never felt unsafe anytime of the day or night. If you do need to use transport though to and from the Strip then the bus stop going towards the Strip is outside the Westin Hotel, you can cross over Flamingo at the intersection with Koval. Coming back the closest bus stop to drop you at Tuscany is outside Platinum Hotel and Spa which is next to Tuscany. This is not to be confused with Club Platinum. which is a Gentle men's Club on the other side of Tuscany. Taxi wise there is a usually a taxi or two outside but if not, the bell desk is at the main entrance and they will sort one for you.

Regarding laundry, I know a lot of places that will pickup from and deliver to the Strip, I personally use Everkleen but I think there are others. It's pricier than a laundromat, but not terrible ($2.50 for dress shirts, $6 for a sport coat, $11 for a suit).

I've always had a morbid curiosity about Joker's Wild. As someone who's stayed at the Las Vegas Club and the Westward Ho, there's nowhere to go but up.

The hostel thing is actually what got me into Vegas in the first instance. Back in college, I went to Montreal with some friends, and we had a room with bunk beds that was $10/pp/night. It was a converted school (or bunker, based on the cinderblock walls). A few months later, we went to Vegas, and stayed at Excalibur for something like $30/night total. And not that Excal is the Four Seasons, but that's not a bad deal.
