So we got there Sat. night and the rental counter was closed. We are from the east coast so Sun. morning we woke up early, because we were still on east coast time, and we walked down to the riverside and from there we took a taxi to the airport, $9 in think, and got the car. There were 6 people ahead of me and it took almost an hour to get the car, it was not a very well run operation, but it is the only choice available. carrentalsavers.com is who i used to book it, we booked it from Sun - wed. it was $100.
When you leave, the night before, they will instruct you to pack your suitcase and leave it by the door and the bellman will show up and pick it up. If you are returning your rental car the day you are leaving I would not do the luggage thing I would just take it myself. They want you to be there 2 + hrs before the flight and that is a joke, if you show up an hr. before you will have more than enough time to check in and go through security. The airport only has 2 gates and whatever row and seat you had going out you will have the same going back.

Thanks for all the great info! We have been on several of the Harrah’s junkets to AC and always a great time..they really do treat you well. We actually did a Biloxi one about 6 weeks ago and was also our first time there and had a blast!

Jeffrey, just an FYI. No need to take a taxi to the airport to get your rental. All the rental companies will pick you up at your hotel and drop you off there.

Pretty sure I read reports in the last 2 months that at least some of the rental companies are no longer doing this. What was the last date that you used this service?

We haven't been to Laughlin since COVID so I don't know the new rules. I know that in LV Enterprise and Budget will no longer pick you up at strip hotels and have not done so for a few years but I can't imagine that they would suspend that service in Laughlin where transportation services are very limited. I guess you'd have to call them directly to be sure.

This is all great info as we will be going on a Caesars junket to Laughlin 11/10-11/14. Anyone else going on this junket? We are flying out of Toledo and believe we also stop at South Bend for a pick up.

That’s funny. We are going 11/3-11/7. Right in between the two of you.

We are scheduled on the Harrah's charter flight from Mesa AZ 10/29-11/2. We have done many Harrah's charters but this is our first after the shut down. I have some questions I hope individuals that have visited lately.
1 Since this will be our first since they are using Swift Air (737 planes) do they leave middle seats open?
    2 Masks on the plane?
3 On the bus from the airport to hotel are masks wear and packing using all seats?
4 At the bars while drinking do you have to have the mask up between sips?
5 In the smoking area of the casino how well is the monitoring of mask wearing of people smoking.
6 With the weather cooling are the weekend crowds down?
7 How are the crowds in the restaurants?

According to Caesar’s website, masks are required on the plane and middle seats are open. I was also wondering about the buses. Hopefully they will follow social distancing guidelines on those as well.

My wife and I are planning a trip to laughlin in March, fly into Vegas, rent a car and drive to Laughlin, so I can use advice on places to stay, etc.

So much depends on your personal taste.

Riverside, oldest and most complete resort type. Also likely most expense because they can. Large non smoking area. Good rooms

    Aquarius, best casino. good rooms.

Harrah's, large and separated from other casinos. Do not know such about it as I have never stayed there.

Golden Nugget, great entrance other wise not to outstanding.

Laughlin River Lodge, very quirky, many small casinos inside a large building. Have not stayed in that building for many years but rooms facing the river are great and a good size.

The river walk that runs between casinos and river is the best feature, if you like a pleasant walk by a river it does not get any better than this.

I just remembered that the Riverside has best rates if you book through them.

Per their website 25% off for stay two nights or longer. call 800-227-3899 mention "website getaway".

In past I have had good results with backend comps.

I agree, it depends what you are looking for.

Also agree that Aquarius is the safest bet. It feels the most like a mid-level Vegas strip hotel-casino.

If I was to visit Laughlin, is it the type of place you go outlet for gaming, or should it be more of a vacation similar to tahoe?

There is not much else to do in Laughlin and surrounding area, so gambling would be your main activity.
