Mainstream music doesn’t remember Chris Stapleton, who’s a country hit now, used to be a Bluegrass singer. I’ve seen the guy 3 times and he blows the doors down, but he was also amazing in a bluegrass setting. There’s a lot of music history here. Texas and Louisiana Coastal areas and the Appalachian foothills. We can’t claim the Memphis blues but you’d be shortchanged if you never looked into real southern music.
A FB friend mentioned her out of the blue and I shared this gem with them - OMG if she came stateside to tour it’s probably be expensive and I would probably have to travel and I am so not a crowds person but I think I would make an exception
I'm guessing my 25 yr old daughter and almost 21 yr old son argue about politics isn't the most popular response.. Calgon, please, take me awayyyyyy!
Vashti Banyon. The song is over 50 years old now. Discovered it watching "Patriot" on Amazon, as it was the opening song for all season 1 episodes

Random Halloween music on Spotify, not very good imo so if anyone has a good spooky playlist on there to recommend, please do. Carving our jack o lantern, attempting to replicate the 1978 “Halloween” one at the intro! [emoji380][emoji316]
Filling in some gaps in my '90s music. Just received this from England. Attica Blues eponymous debut album. Down tempo with excellent vocals by Roba El-Essawy.
We had a bonfire yesterday - typically we listen to something on Sirius XM/bluetooth speaker but since the last Android update, the Sirius app hasn't been working and I couldn't listen on the browser on the phone like I do on my laptop. (hubs has the sirius app on his phone - haven't tried mine) But I have amazon music on mine so we used that (hubs also has Pandora, but, ads....) Amazon's Halloween station is much better than whatever Sirius usually has - a nice blend of classic rock, new stuff, 90s rap - it's all in there! A couple of WTF headscratchers, but we listened to it for ~ 4 hours and were very happy with the mix. [Amazon might have playlists as well - where you would know what you listen to - but I like the randomness of their stations more....when they're good!]
Sounds like amazon is a good choice. I tend to skew towards super old stuff for Halloween- think Betty Boop cartoon music and older lol - but I am open minded! Thanks for the tip!
Mostly, right now I am listening my wife bitch about the old carpet. New carpet is being ordered soon as the samples come in. In the meantime, she's out today so I'll play some Klezmer music a buddy of mine made with friends. I figure it'll be roughly comparable to a polka band.
