    Hi all,

    Getting the running thread started now for next week so that way, any additions/subtractions can be accounted for and, equally as important, we can get a definitive time and place on the Boardwalk set in stone in the next week or so:

    Below are folks, at least based on my understanding and the thread, that are a go (or close to it) for the Saturday, Oct 17th date on the Boardwalk. If I've forgotten you, please lmk as my brain isn't firing on all cylinders. I've also included a list of Possibly attending, based on some discussion in the prior thread. Naturally, if you can't come and you're listed as Possibly, we all understand, however, we're all thinking of you and if you're so inclined, would welcome your attendance as well!:

    Definitives:
    @LB9
    @VPDeuces
    @Happygirl21
    @smerrian
    @spdandpwr
    @hammie
    @Wallew
    @flysrb
    @EastCoastVegasFan!
    @Jer
    @HardEight44

    Possibly:
    @alexm
    @Fet297
    @Tony Y
    @guapoxxx
    @STPFan
    @Flowers
    @BlueBellThunder
    @lithium78

    Please note that this is a fluid list, however, I think it's prudent we put it on folks radar given the Covid situation and the fact that we'll need to start discussing possible venues outdoors. I think that we have far more options than we did even a month or two ago, so ultimately, whatever folks feel most comfortable doing I am more than good with.

    TImeframe:

    I'm proposing 3pm Saturday, however, I'm cognizant we may need to change this.

    Please let me know if you would prefer a specific timeframe in the thread.

    Location:

    This is where I need the most help as I'm not a NJ local and am going purely off of (drunken) memory of past trips. Please let me know if you have intel insofar as if any of these places work, and we can naturally ascertain the outdoor seating situation with respect to room, do they serve food and alcohol, can we combine tables so folks aren't crowded around one another, etc:

    Landshark
    Hardrock Beach Bar
    Backyard Bar (Caesars)
    Harry's Oyster Bar

    Again, please excuse my lack of knowledge insofar as outdoor options to grab a beer and/or snacks. The weather is looking to be around 70 degrees next week at this time, which can obviously change, however, I think a mid-day outdoor drink (or a few) would be something we can all gather around and feel comfortable. Really would love some input on our options as it never hurts to brainstorm in advance of a meet to ensure things are as logistically sound (and safe) as possible.

    Looking forward to it!

    It's looking like 60/40 towards yes, for me. I will be driving up extremely early on the 17th (I mean arriving at 8am), and leaving around 1:30pm on the 18th. I am looking at Caesars, but Bally's could be an option too, maybe even the Trop since they are part of the CET family.

    Unfortunately it's a no for the wife and I. While we had it planned, wife decided to commit to our vegas trip fully and so no trips for us until December. Our next AC trip will be Super Bowl Weekend.

    A little update from my experience this past weekend being in AC with a group. We stayed at Caesars Saturday and Sunday nights with a large group of family. It was the in laws anniversary.

    We had dinner Saturday night at carmine’s at the Trop. We needed two tables. We had one 8 top and one 7 top. We were able to move freely between the two tables but I think management let us slide a little on regulations because we were all family.

    After dinner we split up. We got our kids back to the room they headed back out with two of my wife’s cousins with their significant others. Our group of six couldn’t really find anywhere to hang out without being told to move on or separate. We were told this at Bally’s lobby bar, Caesars toga bar and also Hard Rock’s lobby bar. We were even told to split up or move on while my wife was playing her favorite slot at Hard Rock. We were able to group up while a few of us played craps at Caesars. In AC currently management seems pretty determined to follow the rules set forth by our governor. No groups of more than two at any bar.

    Also please note that on Saturday night almost every table we saw was $25 or more. We did see a few $15 tables but they were full with people standing waiting for a spot to open up.

    Not trying to be a Debbie downer but I want everyone to be prepared for what we might deal with having a group get together.

    Hi there. Count me in +1. Mr HG21 will be joining me. We'll be staying at Bally's.

    3 would be the earliest we would be getting there. I'll be coming off a midnight shift, so I'll sleep a few hours at home then have him drive ( and sleep then too).

    I called Bally's Beach Bar, the operator told me they are closed for the season, so that's out.

    There's the Biergarten (sp?): link: https://g.co/kgs/iaGiFd which appears to still be open. It's nearer Trop.

    For a more "authentic" AC there's Pic A Lilli. They have an outdoor patio and it's a very laid back feel, good snacks, reasonablely priced all the way around. More toward Resorts. Link: http://picalilliac.com/ . They'll be open. The guy told me they have a DJ Saturday nights etc. My first time there was not to long ago and extremely memorable. ( I'll save the story for in person, lol).

    If I'm not mistaken there is s bit of a "redevelopment area" in that area as well. But certainly someone more local than myself would know better.

    Harry's is good but can get a little pricey, IIRC.

    Even though I've been to Hard Rock I'm not to familiar with lounges etc there. Because of my love for Vegas, I'm kind of a slave to CET props.

    Frankly, I figured this was the case. But to that point, if we all have reasonable expectations, I think there is still fun to be had honestly. Drinking inside the casinos is a go, and it will be very nice outside so I think, and I'm coming 3.5 hours away, it will be a nice time for all of us and worst case, a story to share down the road!

    I'll be center boardwalk near you, but I don't mind walking since it will be around 70 degrees which is fantastic weather.

    Any anecdotes here for the Biergarten or Pic a Lilli? @Happygirl21, we'll wait for your Pic a Lilli story in person LOL

    I vote for the Biergarten https://g.co/kgs/iaGiFd because it's outside seating. Yes, it's almost to the Trop, but it looks great and it's outdoors. (Personally, I won't hang in a crowd indoors. Gambling? I start at 3:00am and finish at 11:00am. I'm in my room watching TV when the casino's busy.) Of course, I understand I'm only one vote out of a dozen or so.

    I agree that weather permitting. The Biergarten is probably the best option. Saturday night when we walked by on the way to dinner at 6:00 it was about 25-40% full. Nice amount of space to spread out with lots of tables. It also has a full bar with sports games on if people are interested in keeping up with games.

    Mrs Wallew and I won’t be able to meet up til probably 4:00 at the earliest.

    If we can get a "formal" head count I have no problem reaching out to them to see about a "reservation" or accommodation for our group.

    I appreciate you looking to include me, as I live in NJ, but I’m going to be in Vegas that weekend.

    Thanks for the inclusion. We are currently in Vegas and will be home less than a week so for everyone’s safety we will not be attending. Hope everyone has a great time!:beer:

    If the Biergarten had that few folks I say we go that route since I would presume we’ll have sufficient spacing.

    I have no qualms walking down there for a nice safe area, so if this works for you all I’m absolutely down.

    That would be great! Should we get the headcount now or wait until early next week? Whichever works easiest as I think getting a reservation would ensure we have an area we can rely on outside.

    @LB9 I'm not even sure they accept reservations but i have no problem seeing what, if anything, I can do.

    Ok so for shits and giggles I just called.i got a recording saying that they are a first come 1st served property. Anyway there was an option to leave a message for management, so I did. I asked for them to give me a call back and I told them I was inquiring to see if it's possible to make a reservation at all. for a group of 10 or more ect. Hopefully somebody will call me back so at least we know if that's even a possibility.

    As soon as I hear something one way or another I will let you know. And at that point we can pick a date for a final head count, if a reservation is even doable.

    I hope this message make sense I'm doing talk to text while I'm walking into work lol

    Thank you! If need be I don’t mind waiting outside in the nice weather to reserve a table in person lol. Hell, maybe a few people will join me and we can all chat and get to know one another whilst we wait for a beer Lol.

    I’m flexible on Saturday as I’ll be nursing a hangover from Friday so fresh air won’t be a bad thing!

    I'm really sad, we are not going to make it for this years meetup. We just returned from Nashville for a family vacation and my husband had to quarantine some for work and doesn't want to go away again so soon. We both work at universities and if you are going to be on campus you have to fill out a questionnaire of covid risk questions everyday. I don't go to my campus anymore but he does have to go in here and there when things break. I do hope this continues to be an annual event and that next year we are back to normal.

    Understood, however, we'll look forward to seeing you both next year!

    If I have anything to do with it, this most certainly will go on in the coming years.
