I had recently seen that D/GG/Circa was making some updates to their One Card system. The web portal was down for maintenance for a bit earlier this month (August 2020). I have also heard about and now witnessed (I am in town visiting) some machines not ticking up points on the card reader as one plays. Poking around the menu of the card reader, I found tier points there alongside current slot points (total covering both casinos).

I happen to have 1000 tier points, per the card reader. Tier points do not show up on the web portal, and the tier points did not tick up as I played last night. I had heard about D/GG/Circa looking into a tiered player's club, right from the source at the top (mention his name to get a $25 match play). Just reporting this here since nobody else had yet.

Thanks for the heads up. As long as you're still getting credit for it that's good. If not, I would raise hell lol

I'm curious if you notice how much it takes for a tier credit on VP or slots?

I actually think I'll be ok with this if they don't mess with the comp values. That could be a big possibility.

Has anyone else checked their version of win loss statement on the website and noticed changes? I’m thinking it was due to the maintenance. Also not surprised at tier idea. I had my benefits cut there yet again after maintenance so it no longer matters to me what system he uses. I’ll stick with Four Queens.

I registered my card for the website in July, I've only ever had error messages. Will try again once the new platform in launched, failing that I'll fire off some emails to get it all sorted before my Circa trip in April (fingers crossed)

At the D now and just stopped by the booth - they have the three tiers levels cycling in the background on the display. Asked about it and the attendant said that it starts 10/23. Everyone starts from zero regardless of prior gaming history. Earn points as you go. They didn't have any materials that she was able to share publicly, but said there should be info on the website. I couldn't find anything on the website

The graphics were at the booth are showing the following point levels. I’m not clear if tier points are going to be the same earn rate as regular points.
    • Gambler - 1-5,999
    • Maverick - 6,000 - 29,999
    • Legend - 30,000+

How about our current offers? I have no offers at the Golden gate and of course none of us have offers for the circa yet. I have $75 free play at the D in October and November and also $85 in food for october and november because I play there. and I have $200 in comp dollars. Will not lose my offers and comp dollars right? I will be in vegas downtown from oct 30 to nov 2nd and planning on taking advantage of my october offers when I get downtown and then my november offers first of november.

I also wonder if the future offers are still going to be separate per casino for free play still. Like if I start putting play at circa and golden gate my next trip as well as D if I can get separate free play offers from all 3 like you can right now.

Everyone starts from zero? That's crappy, but any other way might be an IT nightmare.

But if these are the same coin-in per point and you like to work out, you better get ready for a gambling workout! Have to be the equivalent of cet diamond plus for the fitness center? But maybe that's referring to when you don't stay there?!?!

You can workout in your room doing bodyweight circuits like tabata and HIIT. You can also bring a TRX and easily attach to the door and workout in the room as well. There are also resistance bands and valslides you can also bring that can easily fit in your bag There is also the pool where you can do bodyweight workouts in the pool also. A lot of ways to get creative when there is no fitness center to go to, especially during this time none of them are open in the hotels.

and I am guessing some of the stuff on the website is referring to when not staying there. Like parking is free if you have a hotel room.

    Oh great.
Whenever they start changing (watering down) players club programs, it is rarely good for the players.
Currently, Club One is not too bad.
I clicked on the link, and I noticed at least one interesting benefit.
All 3 tier levels get priority access to the pool. HUH?
Does that mean they are opening it up to everyone in town?
We don't need a day club scene. Please.

As far as I know, they haven't announced. My best guess is that tier points and regular points are same rate - $5/point slot, $10/point VP, but that's just a guess - hopefully someone will report back actual results once the program goes live next week.

For everyone else following along, we need to clear up confusion about points vs. tier credits/points.
This is specifically what requires clarification. Until we hear otherwise, we cannot confirm that there is a direct correlation between points earned from machine play and tier credits/points.

What follows is purely personal speculation based on observations both at D/GG/Circa and the industry in general.

First, I have not seen an entirely new tier program (or tiers added to an existing no-tier program) that has started within the past 2-3 years that has not had tier progression be directly tied to generated theo. (Here, I am not counting existing tier-based programs that have been revamped -- such as what we saw at the Plaza at the beginning of 2019 and then again at the beginning of 2020.) I reasonably expect the new Club One to follow suit and be based on earned theo. This would be the most fair way to get table players into the mix.

If Club One is not doing tier progression based on theo, table players would have a difficult time knowing where they fit tier-wise. I would imagine that a player that can get above the Gambler level would have play big enough to warrant being coded to a host -- and it would probably be through a host that a heavy table player would progress in tier. The tier progression for table play would be more akin to Cosmo, but with one key difference -- Club One actually gives something measurable and tangible for table game play, and has been doing so for a long time. Across all games in the casino, players get 5% of their generated theo back in the form of comp dollars. This would only count for games where one can give/insert a card -- including those that do not give points that are redeemable for free play (and, soon for Legend and above, the option for cash back).

The major gaming feature for D/GG/Circa is the sportsbook, Circa Sports. I know for sure that the mobile wagering requires having a Club One account. What remains to be seen is how sports bets (be it through mobile or in-person) would be tracked for player evaluation purposes or even for tier progression. If it's anything like CET, sports bets won't move the needle much unless one is making routine 5- and 6-figure bets.

I have never heard of any association between live keno and Club One. Also, and most importantly, nobody has ever gotten comps for playing Sigma Derby.

    I'll bite.

What has also not yet been confirmed about the new Club One is the earning period. Is it six months or one year? Is it neatly aligned to the calendar year (annual -- January 1 - December 31; six-month -- Jan-Jun, July-Dec), or is it offset a bit (like Mlife used to be, and how Infinity Rewards at Sahara and GSR now works)? What makes sense for D/GG/Circa to be competitive in the market is to be annual, directly aligned to the calendar year. We will presume that to be the case here.

Remember that there are four tiers to the program -- the three being openly advertised, plus the aspirational invite-only tier that basically requires you to be a celebrity and/or to have your experience on-property being handled by a marketing director or above. When I compare tier-based programs, I look at what it takes in terms of gaming action to achieve the second-highest tier without the aid of any limited-time tier progression bonuses (with CET's daily tier bonuses not counting as such special promotions). I will also consider how the corporate gaming offers work -- the frequency at which they are sent out, and also how many times per offer period they may be used (e.g. one offer per quarter, but can be redeemed in full once per calendar month within the quarter). Offer structure gives clues about the casino's expectations for how to go about making tier. The tier benefits can also give clues.

Just because it's downtown, it might make sense to compare Club One Legend to Plaza Rewards Gold (or maybe Silver). Plaza Rewards has an annual earning period. It would take $100k of annual slot coin-in or $300k of annual VP coin-in to make/maintain top tier. Theo-wise, that would be about $10k/$6k. Dropping down to second-highest tier (Silver), it's $25k slots / $75k VP (theo -- $2500/$1500). The Plaza does quarterly gaming offers that can be booked once per quarter. You would probably have to be in the $600-1000 ADT range over 10 gaming days per year (3 trips of 3-4 nights each) to make Plaza Rewards Gold (and $150-250 ADT to make Silver).

D/GG (and, eventually, Circa) has bimonthly offers that can each be booked twice -- once per calendar month. They are likely expecting 3 stays per year for sure, and maybe 4. Let's just call it 10 gaming days per calendar year (or 12-month earning period). For Club One Legend, that would be 3k tier points per gaming day. For Maverick, it would be 600 tier points per gaming day.

It should not be more difficult to achieve Club One Maverick than it does to achieve Grazie Gold (with V/P), in terms of theo. In more normal times, it takes $2000 of theo in a calendar year to go from base Grazie to Gold, and then $1334 of theo to maintain Gold after that. If it is reasonably possible to make/maintain Grazie Gold within a single stay of 3 or 4 nights (let's just go with $500 ADT), it should be even easier to make/maintain Club One Maverick in a single trip.

Basically, @Flowers would comfortably make Legend and Rick Harrison (or insert any celebrity that the host featured in a certain mid-00s documentary and also in an early-00s reality show would personally handle) would comfortably make the invite-only tier.

By all of that logic, I am going to enter my first official estimate that for Club One, $1 theo = 5 tier points. To better track that, it would be $1 earned comps = 100 tier points.

The email I received today from Club One did surprise me in one (no pun intended) way. You can earn tier points from dining and room charges associated with your card. No other tiered program Downtown (and now only Four Queens and Binions do not have tiers) has non-gaming spend contributing to tier progression. There was no information about the exact correlation of spend to tier points.

Side note: all points from machine play are now pooled between the three properties.

Now the debate may begin about whether or not using your card when redeeming food comps or earned comp dollars -- and now to earn tier points -- triggers a gaming day at D/GG/Circa.

If points from machine play are now pooled between the 3 properties, does that mean that offers are based on what points you get from each property on one gaming day? For example, you play 2 hours at the D, 2 hours at circa, 2 hours at Golden gate getting a lot of points at each all in one gaming day. Will free play now be combined and used at one of the 3 of choice or be separate like it is right now with Golden gate and the D? Food credit can also be only used at the hotel you got the food credit at as well I know that unless things are changing and you can use at any club one location. I know Comp can be used at any club one location.

looking forwards to how this gets dissected.
my guess is it won't be a great improvement for anyone (is new & improved ever?),
but will let us all do what we know we want to do,
grind up and combine all our play for a Circa offer.

    jmho, ymmv.

:(I'm scheduled to leave 2 days- scratch that ONE DAY before circa opens.. (28, right?).
Maybe I can convince my buddy to pull a @Tarpie.
