Bellagio Resort King or Park MGM Nighthawk Suite

I had a earlier post on which Casino, hotel(Bellagio or Venetian) to stay at with my fiance who has never been to Vegas and impress her.
And Bellagio was the winner. I was planning on trying a $50 sandwich at Check-In.
Well now i just found out i can get a Park MGM Nighthawk Suite for the same price i got the Bellagio Resort King room!
I haven't been to Vegas since Park MGM opened up but have stayed at Bellagio before.
I know Park MGM is Smoke Free which is fine since we both don't smoke. But how is the gambling vs Bellagio?

But BOTTOMLINE is, which would you choose?
Bellagio Resort King($50 sandwich, any upgrade) or Park MGM Nighthawk Suite($50 sandwich, Strip view) for the same price?

Bellagio all day. Your sandwich will probably get you a fountain view king at Bellagio. The energy, atmosphere, and location is a big improvement over ParkMgM.

I’ve stayed in the Nighthawk Park MGM suite. Not that much to it, I had a really small window with a view of the T-mobile video board.

 

Depends on your goal. If your main goal is to impress your guest, i would stick with bellagio and go ahead and pay for an upgrade now to make sure you get it. In terms of gambling, though, you will likely find smaller minimums at Park.

Park MGM being smoke free is the only thing i can think of that beats the Bellagio. But for some people, me included, that's a HUGE plus. Vegas does a great job of air circulation so it's not about the smell of smoke for me but the health and safety concerns of people smoking and not wearing masks.

Bottom line, you want to impress her and Bellagio will do the trick, even with a base room. Very decadent and luxurious. I would choose Bellagio.

Park MGM is stuck with the old Monte Carlo infrastructure so there wasn't much they could do to vastly improve it to the point where it's on par with the 5 star properties on the strip, short of just blowing it up and starting from scratch.

There's also nothing impressive about the nighthawk suite. It's just a bigger sized guest room. Nothing about it feel like a suite. It's not like a bedroom suite where you have a clearly defined living area and a separate bedroom. Cosmo's Terrace rooms are 80 sq ft less but FEEL bigger... and they feel like a real suite. Now the Venetian? That is the standard for what i would happily call a suite. Nighthawk is what you would call a studio suite. Just a larger guest room with an open floor plan. I booked the Paris petite suite once, it was the same thing. I was disappointed.

Park MGM also has a dark feel to it. That could be a bad thing, good thing, or maybe some people don't care. But it does feel dark. Pool is small, casino area is small, only a few dining options.

Having said this, precovid i have stayed at Park MGM, usually when catching a sporting event or concert at the next door t-mobile arena. But now i think i would switch over to NYNY

 

Sorry let me take one thing back... Park MGM does have that Park Blvd area. That had live music, fun restaurants, and such. At least it was a great area precovid. Don't know about it now, but it is a bonus.

 

I’ve stayed at Nomad which is cool, but The Park MGM casino is very underwhelming. Bellagio is the winner here, don’t even think twice.

If you were both more foodies than gamblers, I’d tilt toward Park MGM with Bavettes, Eatily, and the other places in the park. Always go for Nomad versus the regular Park MGM rooms, fantastic service and initiate setting

 

I had those Nighthawk suites available for a while, but would take a normal room at Bellagio over those, and did take Aria last year.

 

Any suite at Park MGM is lesser than the worst room at Bellagio.

The casino at Bellagio is better, so are the bars, the pool and the atmosphere.

Park has some dead tree thing at check in. Bellagio has a multi million dollar, world famous glass sculpture.

Go with Bellagio and see if you can upgrade to a Salone Suite or at least a Resort Tower King. Both have tubs with a view.

 

Bellagio for sure. Park MGM Nighthawk Suite looks disappointing from the videos I've seen of it. The extra space is given to a large wet bar and a large walk-in closet, neither of which I have any use for. It also isn't a real separated suite, just a larger room with an extra TV.

I've never stayed at Park MGM... I have at Nomad

I agree with What others say about Bellagio.

I'll provide a few factors... minor in my opinion, that may enhance Park.

It's smaller. If less walking appeals, the ability to easily find a travel mate... Park.
Craps, I've frequently found $10 tables there in daylight. Never seen that at Bellagio, even 8am.
I love Eataly. And, IMO, Primrose is on par with Sadelles.. And more comfortable
People wired to avoid human customer service may prefer the kiosk check-in & -out setup. Unlike other places where e*check-in is an option.... it looks to be the norm at Park.

I like the proximity to the Park, NYNY, etc. Much closer than Bellagio to its nearest MGM neighbors.

All said... just trying to provide a few factors relevant to Park. I'm going 7 days from today. Chose Bellagio before Park opening date was known.... But I wouldnt try to change.... well maybe if offered a Nomad suite (bigger than Atelier)

 

Agree with these, plus the non-smoking could be a big plus to some people. The elevators are also super close to the gaming floor and I liked the casino/slots there.
