    My Trip Report

I’m making a super quick solo trip to Vegas this weekend (total trip time is approximately 48 hours). I’m going for the sole purpose of collecting a $3000 Amazon Gift Card. I went down on the same promo at the end of June and had an epic winning trip. Totaled out at $4350 in Amazon Gift Cards and over $6000 of jackpot winnings (on top of my bankroll), so I decided to try my luck again. This will mark the first of two trips two Vegas in a 10 day span. Also heading back with my hubs 10/1-10/4 – we are celebrating 20 years together (more than ½ our lives as I turn 39 next Tuesday) and are going to Vegas to Celebrate.

As luck would have it, I went to my local casino on Tuesday night to be play my freeplay and hit two jackpots (posted in Non-Vegas Trip Reports). I wasn’t planning on a huge bankroll for my 2-day trip (since more money will be needed for the trip with my husband who is a cooler), but the jackpots gave me some care-free Vegas money. Since I never put this cash in the bank, it’s kind of like it never existed! Still hoping I don’t lose it all, but if I do, at least I will have fun.

2 nights comped in a Premium Royal Suite Augustus Tower at CP with a $3000 Amazon Gift Card or $3000 FP. There is a play up option for an additional $50 for every 1000 tier credits earned as well. I opted for the gift card to ensure that I come home with something to show for my trip. Add to that the fact that Amazon is pretty much our go-to for everything online shopping (and that we have spent $4k of Amazon gift cards since July 2nd), and I couldn’t resist.

2 nights comped at NYNY in a Park Avenue King View room, with $325 FP and $350 Resort Credit. I basically booked this so I can eat some nice meals on the trip and have some freeplay to throw around and get some steps in walking the strip.

Travel Plans: Leaving Portland on a 1:35pm flight on Southwest tomorrow, Friday 9/25. Arriving at 3:45pm. Renting a car this time since Uber and Lyft were so bad last time I was there. I also like the idea of having easier access to things and may drive down and give some play to Casinos that I have no status with, depending on how the trip is going. Returning home on an 11:20am flight on Sunday on Southwest, arriving back in Portland at 1:40pm. The hubs will be my chauffeur to and from the airport for this trip.

Food Plans: I will likely grab a quick bite at NYNY when I head there to check in and play my FP. They have a sushi bar that looked good when I was there last. Dinner on Friday night is at 9:30pm at Prime at Bellagio. Also scored 2 free glasses of champagne through MyVegas. Dinner on Saturday night is at Bardot at 8pm, thanks in large part to VMBer’s for their suggestions.

I will be updating as I go along – it makes the solo trip feel much less “solo” and tends to slow me down when I want to go full degen . Will likely focus on Lightning Link type machines – my local casino doesn’t have them and they were kind to me last time (2 $2500 minors and an almost $8000 major).

AND – this trip couldn’t come at a better time. My husband and I woke up this morning to someone trying to break into our car in our driveway (Portland, but not downtown). They tried once at 5:15am to break into the passenger window (we didn’t realize what was happening at the time, but both recalled hearing a noise), and again at 8:15 while I was getting ready for work to break into the drivers side, at which time my husband chased them away. Broad daylight folks! Needless to say, I need this trip a little more now. This is the second time in less than two months that I’m paying an insurance deductible b/c someone decided to break into a vehicle of ours (the last one happened in August in Downtown Portland at work). Less than 24 hours and my plane will be in the air – I cannot wait!

Happy to share observations along the way, just ask!

Good luck and have a great trip. I look forward to seeing photo's of the Suite. If you have a host there try to ask about any forthcoming plans to reopen the Laurel Lounges.

It was definitely one more crappy thing to add to a week of crappy things. I feel violated for sure. 2020 can suck it.

Here’s hoping your luck at the local carries over to the strip  Sounds nice to know you will have a significant gift to take home with you regardless of play results :) Stay safe, win lots, and have a blast

We are in Raleigh Hills in an otherwise sleepy neighborhood. Scary that people are so bold.

Do you live in SE? I noticed an increase in crime when I lived there. I’m down in Salem now which has also seen an increase in crime.

No, SW actually in Raleigh Hills right off of Scholls Ferry. I feel like perhaps it’s getting bad everywhere? At least that’s how I’m sleeping tonight.

I'm in SE. Eastmoreland. Been here 10 years, and yes I'd say that crime is increasing. Anyway, so as to not completely hijack the thread, I hope it's a great trip and I look forward to big wins from the OP

At the airport getting ready to board my flight. Tried to stop at the Capers Market in my gate area and they had a very limited menu for priority pass. So, I walked to the other one and had this gem of a meal [IMG]

With the $28 PP credit it only cost me a $5 tip.

Boarding happening now which is great. I was a bit skeptical of whether we would take off on time due to very heavy rain this AM but I’m happy to be heading to Vegas!
