Differences between basic rooms at Park MGM and Nomad?

Can anyone link me to a post (I googled, I swear) or give me their own take on the differences between NoMad and Park's basic 406 square foot rooms? Both are showing comped for me, but the value of NoMad is almost DOUBLE. My understanding is just the interior decor is different (more homey, but less Modern) with different artwork inside each room, and the exclusive check in desk area (I am Gold so I can skip the lines anyway), and the pool. Are there additional reasons for NoMad? If my understanding about comps is correct, the lower I take, the more back end comps on food etc I might get later. It is also my first time booking a room already being gold, so maybe I have a higher chance at an upgrade at Park over NoMad? Decisions, decisions...

I stayed at Nomad in December and it was great. They had coffee & papers in the lobby every morning, the Nomad rooms are the top 4 floors and the hotel has it's own staff, iirc.

I don't like the look of the suites at MC, they looked to have horrible layouts, to me. Gold you get upgraded if they are available, and I got upgraded to a Atelier room on my stay, which is a little bigger and has a huuuuuge tub in the room, as well as the big shower.

I'd always take Nomad over park, whatever the price difference, you've earned the room.

 

I stayed in a NoMad Salon Double room and enjoyed it. I'm not particular about rooms while in Vegas, but I thought it was very spacious and comfortable.

 

I also stayed in a Salon Double and enjoyed it. Plus as I have posted elsewhere, our stay was extremely quiet, even with the room being close to the elevator. Decor-wise, the hallways are dark, but I liked having the separate entrance and lobby (esp when we needed to visit the desk to solve a small food/bev credit question).

 

The value of NoMaD is really in the service the property provides. You are treated much more like a special guest vs one of the ********* at Park MGM.
Style and quality of decor, guaranteed views, access to the NoMaD pool are other reasons.

Personally I dislike the design of the Park and NoMaD rooms. Park's look like the designer raided a store that sells cheap 1970's motel knockoffs. NoMaD looks like the designer raided a vintage store to purposefully make the rooms look old. The suites at both are really no better. As mentioned, Park Suites suck. Then again, so did the non Hotel32 suites at Monte Carlo. Weird floor plans and only one suite type that is a true suite. Even then, you don't get a tub. As for the NoMaD suites, it's sad how the designers trashed the excellent bathrooms of Hotel32 to make these new ones. Hotel32 Loft and Pent bathrooms exceeded anything at Aria or Bellagio until you got to the Villa caliber level. Now many of their suites have weird bathroom set ups. For example, the Grand and Atelier Suite has the tub near the bed, a sink and shower in one room, and a toilet and sink in a completely other room.

The Park/NoMaD pool is basic. You like concrete rectangles? Well, you've got 'em. Luxor's pool area is nicer for example.

Personally I wouldn't choose either, but if I had to pick, I'd go with NoMaD. At least you are getting good service, a better view, and slightly better decor.

 

Even though NoMad is on the top floors of Park MGM, I could hear the pool parties down below during the daytime, but it wasn't so loud that it was bothersome. I picked this hotel because of a concert I went to at the T-Mobile Arena and didn't want to deal with the crowds afterwards. I just walked across the street to my room when the concert was over. I'd definitely stay there again.

 

Park is kinda basic. Low to mid tier quality room. I stayed once cuz my host at Park encouraged it, and have since exclusively stayed at NoMad, which is definitely the luxury option.

NoMad has hard wood flooring, more of a boutique hotel room vibe with eclectic furniture, a separate wing and level of service, and if you get a larger room, there's a standalone soaking tub in the bedroom that is divine.

 

I have yet to stay at NoMad. i definitely will one day. I have stayed at the Park MGM nightingale or nighthawk "suite". if it is any indication of a regular Park MGM room, it is dreadful. drab colors....in another post i likened the room to my grandmother's house in 1970s. of course moving from a Cosmo terrace fountain view to the suite and the comparison made it feel even MORE DRAB. i have heard good things about NoMad ..... but ParkMGM rooms meh

 

Proximity to T-Mobile was the main reason I stayed at NoMad. I was warned about the Park rooms being too noisy but I still wanted that location, so went with NoMad. I did not hear any noise from the pool from our room.

 

Forgot to mention, during moth season, yes that is a thing, Park/NoMaD will be horrible. Our Hotel32 Loft had probably 20 moths in it. Apparently that is just from guests opening windows a crack.

 

The only real reason above highlighted for choosing Nomad over Park MGM is high floor, better service and the possibility of being upgraded to a suite there. If you are like me and don't care or think it isn't justified doubling the comp value of your Park MGM room just for better service/higher floor then it is a no brainer to pick Park MGM. You will save that comp value and potentially get back end comps and better marketing comps in the future. I stayed at Park MGM and Nomad just doesn't return enough value to justify being worth that much more then again I am very value conscious person.

Entry level room at Park MGM is $45 some weekdays. Same dates has entry level room at Nomad for $139. No thanks won't get almost $100 value in return.

Some nuanced differences... Everything in my Nomad room seemed nicer than anywhere else. For example, the ice bucket, drinking glasses, either really nice glass,or genuinely crystal. .... even the laundry bag. The staff at check in and checkout were fantastic. The car valets remembered my name. The small size adds a sense of intimacy or familiarity. Theyve obviously raised service expectations of their staff. It all left me feeling they care about the details.

For those who see a room as a place to shower, change clothes and sleep.... I wouldn't bother with Nomad. But I felt like I got a unique-to-Vegas experience of a quiet, elegant hotel room but only a few steps from casino/resort action.

I'm booked in December...and considering calling to change my Oct trip.

Funny, had the same experience at Cromwell. Thought I would hate it, ended up loving it. Only downside was their pool. But we were able to use Caesars instead.

 

This is a good way to describe it, and I think that is what they were going for, with the same feel as the NoMad in NYC. The only disappointment for us was that the NoMad restaurant, which I'd heard great things about, was closed during our entire stay for I-forget-the-reason. I wonder if that will reopen when the hotel does.
