Wow both my picks (TOR, LAC) get bounced in game 7s , the Clips in a meltdown. Oh well, I chalk it up to 2020, COVID and Bubble Basketball. Good luck to the Final Four!

WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT BY THE CLIPPERS

Congrats to the Nuggets, but I truly can’t believe this.

Blown 3-1 lead, the third of Doc Rivers’ coaching career

    Kawhi Leonard shot 6/22

    Paul George shot 4/16

One of the biggest choke jobs in NBA history

In the news conference Doc Rivers gave the excuse that Denver has played together along time & they knew each other & we (Clippers) did not. At first I thought, dude, that is the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard, they should fire you.

But then I thought about it. Maybe that’s his way of saying “F*ck this load management horsesh*t! We need time on the floor together.” No more chicken wings. No more whining. No flagrant fouls on Luka.

I hope that’s what he was saying.

Yes, George said the same, this is out first year together. It's also the first time I have heard him say that.

I have heard that before in other sports / situations. This was different for ALL teams. There was no travel, packing, unpacking, time zone change; they had nothing to do since the season was halted back in the spring other than strategize review film and practice. They should have familiarized themselves with one another’s tendencies and strengths / weaknesses exponentially given the available time together and lack of interference from family and outside influences.
But if it is a truth that familiarity takes time to jell into a championship caliber product, I would think it would be recognized in the contract with a little money to get to know one another and then a LOT of money on the backend once the relationship solidifies and championships result. That doesn’t happen either.
How about maybe the better team won (it wasn’t a squeaker on a fluke play) and we’ll do better next time?

Awesome... Denver’s Jamal Murray outscores, Kawhi, Playoff P and Lemon Pepper Lou Williams... COMBINED!

I thought Nuggets would cover the 7.5, but sure didn’t see that happening.

They had all year to jell and not until NOW we hear well maybe we didn't jell yet. NOPE! You watch the last quarter, KL and PG shots were short, hitting the front of the rim or PG hitting the side of the backboard. That's choke stuff. Alligator Arms

    Marcus Morris
    Montrezl Harrell
    Patrick Patterson
    Isaiah Thomas
    Reggie Jackson
    Joakim Noah
    Amir Coffey
    Johnathan Motley
These players are not under contract for the Clippers next season at a saving of about 19 million
JaMychal Green has about a 5m player option

Now that the shock of last night has abated, I started thinking about what remains. This year is now, almost certainly, James' best chance to get that fourth title. The lakers match up much better against Denver than the Clips. They can equal the Nuggets size and their defenders match up better against Murray than the Clips could offer. I think that series is lakers in five, six at worst.

Then, the finals. For the lakers, I don't think it matters if its Miami or Boston. They are the better team in either matchup. Plus, history has shown us that experience counts for a lot when it comes to the pressure of the finals. The Warriors first title run and the '04 Pistons are the only recent examples I can think of that buck that trend. And both those teams still had a lot more big game experience than any of the key players on Boston or Miami. James, Green, Rondo, even McGee, all have experienced the pressure of the finals multiple times. It won't be as pressure packed this year in the bubble, but if nothing else, last night's Clips 4th quarter meltdown shows that the players can still feel pressure in this environment.

I think James gets #4 and that puts him in pretty elite company and still gives him an outside shot at a 5th title to match Duncan and Bryant

I think if you trade a first round pick for Morris, you should try to resign him.

Harrell - 6th man of the year. Have to try to resign him & assume that poor conditioning during the stoppage resulted in poor playoffs. His grandma was dying, cut him some slack.

    Maybe resign Jamychal Green

+350 or +400 on Miami to win it all looks like the best number right now. They have so many shooters and should continue to expose the Celtics and maybe even surprise the Lakers (hell, maybe Davis will go into a funk)—of course, I really don't think that, but the Heat are playing well enough that they provide some value. As for the Clips, the knee-jerk reaction is to fire Doc, but I think that's a mistake—give him another year with Leonard and Paul, although the supporting cast should be shaken up.
