I actually enjoyed hearing the QB and Defensive signal calls.
    ,
The first half of Jets vs Bills
The crowd noise was hardly noticeable.....most the time NOT THERE.
We just started 2nd half and the volume was turned up significantly !
    I'm wondering.....
Is that the Stadium PA system ?
    Or
Network TV mixing the volume up in their telecast ?
    .
And who ever is responsible......should at least be " mixing " the noise like
    a DJ would.
Turn a loud ROAR when a great play is made -
instead of this medium volume ( background ) non descript crowd noise.
It's as bad as TV " Laugh Tracks " !
    .
Do I have to explain this " DJ Mix " stuff to Pro Football Stadiums ?
    or Network TV ?
Nobody getting a paid salary could think of this ?
Do it right !.......if your gonna do it at all ?
    geez

    I am watching that game.
Announcers said the stadium PA can pipe sound in to the stadium up to 70db. Anything above that is generated by the networks.
I'd prefer hearing the calls and the contact sounds myself.
The Bills GM said that they need some PA sounds pumped in to cover the calls that are being made on the field.

I've been enjoying whoever controls the hockey crown reactions. You wouldn't be able to tell if it was a live game with an audience without looking.

It wasn't very good for the Patriots game today. The timing was off a lot, Nance and Romo joked about it a couple of times. I don't have a problem with it if it's done right. I'm watching TB - NO now and it seems much better.

It's interesting, I think it probably is good for the announcers better to have it in their headphone mix so they raise their voices on a big play, whereas they might not otherwise.

I've only watched one baseball game so far and it was just ridiculous. Guy hits a home run into empty stands and the empty stands go nuts, lol.

49er game noise seemed very one note.... like some weird version of sleep machine white noise.

Only thing sadder are the cutouts. They've been promoting fan cutouts for weeks. $150... proceeds to charity. Yet only lower end zones have some spaced cutouts. If it was free, I'd send in a picture yawning for my cutout.

At least the SF Giants are having some fun with cutouts at the ballpark, famous players, babies, even the gulls.

It is annoying to say the least, distracting is more like it for me. Seconds after the tackle, there would be a piped in "roar" and my instincts had me look to see if there was a fumble, only to see it was a delayed reaction by the sound guy who was not sure how loud to cheer a play. The announcers at the jets game joked about how the "crowd" really wanted Buffalo to go for it on 4th and inches - when in reality there was no one calling for anything besides the sound guy opting for a prerecorded "roar" egging them on.

Most laugh tracks on shows today are from the 1950s. In alot of cases you're listening to dead people laugh on new shows. Weird.

I thought the vibe in the KC-HOU game was nice with the limited crowd. Seems like a good balance of no fans vs all fans. Hope we get more confident and the virus doesn't take hold as colder weather returns.

Nothing can replace our 12's. Brandon Marshall doesn't get that no 12's plus no pass rush equals no Super Bowl.

The sound tracks didn't affect me one way or the other, except that the drama of close games is lessened somewhat without big crowds.

One game I was watching they had the crowd noise so loud I could barely hear the announcers.

I only watched the Eagles. No need for noise for that train wreck.

So, I watched a few games this past weekend, and was wondering how others felt about the artificial crowd noise that the NFL is playing during the games. I sort of understand why they are doing it, but for some reason it just doesn't seem right. It's the same feeling I had when I found out that one of my favorite Christian metal bands from the 80s uses pre-recorded screams for the lead singer during live shows.

I was also wondering if they are playing the same artificial crowd noise in the actual stadium for the players to hear, or is it just real quiet during the game?

I enjoyed having the NFL back on my TV this past weekend. I honestly don't care about the piped-in crowd noise... there's so many other things worth my worry... this just ain't one. Now that doesn't mean I don't favor the return of full and loud stadiums with fans, just not right now.

The comeback of sports on my TV is going along slowly. The combination of late seasons, continuing COVID implications, and getting used to doing other things is slowing it down. The fake crowd noise is weird but it isn't a game changer. I will be fine with it/ignore it as I get back into things...but I am not sure how quickly I will get there.

I do like the return of crowds to some events. Hopefully, it is being done as safely as possible and more and more fans will be allowed at other locations...even if only a small percentage of capacity.

Early NHL playoff drove my crazy with crowd noise. Way too loud, continuous and overbearing.
Later games including tonight's was so much better.
Small sample of NFL on Sunday was not noticeable to me.

Pretty annoying, watched a Brewer game the other day and there was a five second delay in the wild fan roar after a ball went off the glove of the first baseman with the bases loaded. Two runs were in in before the cheering began.
