I usually take granola bars with me. Save money on breakfast, and spring for lunch and dinner.

Plenty of water and dark chocolate covered macadamias from the ABC store on Fremont.
I am a late sleeper so normally I am up around noon and I like to eat just a small snack in the room before going to the pool but I don't want to binge on snacks cause I know I have plenty of food comps.
I like to bring 1 or 2 apples from home especially now that you can't go to a buffet and get fresh fruit.

I have some dietary restrictions, so I typically bring something for in the room. Usually it's nuts or a protein bar or Kind bars. If I have a fridge, I like to keep one of those fruit salads that is mostly melon in the fridge to snack on in the morning versus going down for breakfast. I used to be able to get them at Cafe Madeline or some other coffee places in the afternoon and keep them in my fridge. If I don't have a fridge, I do the nuts and jerky snacks. Maybe some chocolate covered nuts.

If I bring any snacks back to my room, I immediately eat them. Not much chance they will be sitting around for long. :feedme:

For a 6-7 day stay, I get pretty much the same things for the room every time I stay. I get 1 2ltr of pop, 6 pk of water. a 6-8 pk of powerade or gatorade, a 24 case or 30 rack of Busch or Budweiser, a 1/5th of vodka, 6 candy bars (Almond Joy, Baby Ruth, Milky Way, or 10,000 grand & 1/2 dozen of donuts ( Boston Creme or glazed). My sister lives in northwest Vegas area & the morning that I leave her house to go to the strip area, I hit the Walmart, Vons & or a bakery to load up.

We drive so I bring nuts, peanut butter Munchies, Pringles, cookies and candy bars. I also bring Coke and some water. My spouse loves to snack late at night.

I’m a big fan of nuts (giggity)...I always have a bunch at my house, so I just parcel out some smaller batches to have on hand. Couple of granola bars too, or fruit bars.

Pepperidge Farm Dark Chocolate Milano cookies I pick up at CVS, until I can get to Honolulu Cookie Company for a variety of their shortbread cookies.

Assuming they haven't changed them, one of the nice things about Delano was the mini-bar refrig has a small shelf at the top, which you can place items on. I usually fit 2 20oz soft drink bottles on there (laying flat)

Ken is correct with the small shelf in the Delano mini-fridge. I usually grab a few waters from the spa or on the casino floor to have on hand. It's really not much space, but nice to have.

As for snacks, I usually pack some Kind bars. Sometimes I grab a parfait from Starbucks or I hit up Citizen's for a muffin or something. Just need something to hold me over while getting ready/before heading out to a meal.

I usually stop at Albertson's (the one just west of the Orleans) to pick up supplies. Besides water, Gatorade, and sometimes Red Bull, I often get some granola bars, cookies, candy bars, etc. For the fancier snacks, I like to stop by some of the pastry shops or other specialty shops, either on the strip/downtown or around town. If there's an ice cream shop at the hotel where I'm staying, that's also a big plus. When I stay at the Orleans, I go to the Baskin Robbins in the food court fairly often. LOL

If your parents are in their late 70's they probably watch what their ingesting a bit more. Not that they won't splurge, but they watch. I recommend some sort of fruit in the room. I like grapes or mini mandarin oranges. I usually feel like I'm eating too much rich/fattening food after 2 days and want some roughage. In addition, I'll add 2 things...some type of really decadent chocolate (the dark chocolate covered macadamia nuts sounded wonderful) and some sort of salty snack (I like pringles).

Besides the booze and mixers, our room looks like a couple kids hit up the CVS. The coffee table is covered in a variety of candy and chips, soda and energy shots. I should also get some nuts next time, that would be good. We never eat like that at home, but hey Vegas is all about decadence, right?

I usually stay at PH so the first thing I do is get gallon bottles of water (half-gallon per day that I'm staying). I get a couple pints of cherry cola, and a couple of candy bars (either Reese's PB cups, Baby Ruth, or Butterfingers) and some nuts. I also get some Garrett's caramel corn with nuts from the Miracle Mile Shops sometime while I'm there. I bypass healthy foods when I'm in Vegas, but I will take the stairs over the escalator whenever I can. And aside from the soda, caramel corn, and candy, that's the only sugary thing I typically eat there except maybe splitting a dessert a few ways. But way too much alcohol.
