Anyone know the status of casino bars in Reno and Stateline NV (Lake Tahoe)?

Motion to not reopen Washoe County (Reno, Sparks) for at least another 2 weeks has passed. Clark County is up next after a 10 minute break.

Can't see them approving to reopen Clark if Washoe isn't opening.

Caleb Cage acknowledges that the county's test positivity rate has dropped from more than 17% in July to 12.6% now.

But, "we do still have a high test positivity."

Cage: "I think we are in a very tenuous spot with Clark County. As Clark County goes, so goes the rest of the state."

Says we need to be measured; "We said we would close down quickly and we would reopen slowly."

Cage said "the federal government views Clark County as in the red" and that it still has nearly double the test positivity or the state criteria (which is 7%).

Said he doesn't want to lose the ground made so far.

They are voting on countertops in restaurants, but sounds like bars are not currently an option.

Motion on the floor is to open non-bar countertops by Wednesday, Sept. 9.

COVID task force approves Clark County's plan to reopen countertops for non-bar establishments effective Wednesday Sept. 9, but under social distancing requirements.

    Bars will remain CLOSED.

Task Force will reevaluate in 2 weeks, Sept. 17th.

We go the 13th. We love bar top video poker and bartender made drinks right in front of you. I want them open for our trip. But I see the point of not backtracking/ yo-yoing for the long term good.

Motion to NOT reopen bars in Clark County (Las Vegas, Paradise) for at least another 2 weeks has passed but possibly the opening of restaurant countertops on September 9th!

It was pretty close there for a second...but I'm sure @Sonya will give a much more detailed update.

What is considered a non-bar countertop? Inside casinos vs stand alone bars?

Please don't confuse countertops with bar tops. They were talking about restaurant counters like sushi bars and diner countertops.

But if an Establishment serves food and drinks does that mean the countertop is open across from the bartender?

    Great info here!

Thanks to all for the updates.

While a longshot, I am still hoping for bartop VP on the 17th.

Curious to see how this non-bar countertops thing works, I'm presuming there's a lot of restaurant/diner countertops in Nevada?
