Upcoming trip to Vegas staying at Flamingo and going to Mirage for a couple days to change it up. I will have to pay Resort Fees vs having them waived at Flamingo but I am okay with that on a comped room.

Mlife sends me a confirmation of booking. I don't check my confirmation email until a few hours later when I discover another email sent to me that was also sent to my phone. This email states that my reservation is still not complete. Huh?

I go into my email to see that they are now trying to charge me $39 a night and that I must click here and there etc. to get the rate. They sent this email a couple minutes AFTER they had sent my confirmation email of a comped room for two nights. WTF Mlife?

Anyways I have the comped email safely stored and I deleted the other one telling me I had to pay more so I am good. But....pay attention everyone. If I had pointed and clicked the way Mlife was trying to get me in the second email, I would be out another $78 on the rooms they had already given me for free.

That's pretty shady. Let us know if they try to charge you when you get there? I think you should call and confirm, just to be sure.

I have never had this happen, though I did once get downgraded at Caesars in AC.

As long as you have the original email you are good. They tried to do that to me with a rate a couple of years ago and I took it right up the food chain and received the correct rate upon arrival.
Believe me, these days no one can afford to lose customers due to shady practices. I have been in the customer service field for a long time and while you might tell one or two people about good service, you will normally tell 10 or 15 about bad service or in the case of posting it here...hundreds.

I cannot envision a scenario where they more than half heartedly try to make me pay the vig at checkout. But I have the confirmation that says "Free". But ya, pretty f+cking snaky right?

When your corporation has just announced 18000 layoffs, you don't upset the few remaining PURE gamblers who are coming to your casino (from Canada no less!!) to spend some money.

Was that a resort fee? I've thought about staying at mlife, but am annoyed they show a resort fee on all the comped room offers they send me.

That's really shitty D, and I completely agree that especially with the current situation, they shouldn't be pulling this nonsense on customers whom come to spend a good bit of money as it could be a PR disaster for them.

Hopefully if this continues to happen, someone will expose this secretive behavior on social media to really hurt them where it counts, their wallet. I've found that's the only way to get these sorts of operations to pay attention.

No. $39 was room rate plus fees/taxes.

Thats what I was thinking since the MGM resort fee is $39

I tried to look around the Mirage website but it appears to be having issues, perhaps the OP got caught up in their website malfunctioning.

It sounds like another MLife glitch.

I'm not sure how long they've been doing it, but I noticed a few weeks ago, MLife and CET both send you "reminder" emails if you're logged in, go partially through the booking process and then bail. They send you an email with that girl saying "HIT THE BUTTON!" No not really.

But they do send an email saying finish your reservation, with a link in it.

It kind of sounds like maybe some wires might have crossed with that process.

Be ready for a fight when you get there.
You won't have to wait for check out ,they should confirm the rate on arrival.
Hate to say it but I can see them trying to stick it to you and weasel out of the freebie offer.

    Agree

That's likely some computer automated process goof.

Besides the bad reputation, think of how much human effort it would take them to monitor for the oportunities and implement that. How could they train employees to do that?.... it'd get out. All for $78 in room fees?

If that happened to me, I'd save all of the communications. And contact them, very politely, tell them what happened. "I found it confusing and unsettling about my reservation. Plus, MGM should know you have this issue so it doesn't happen again."

A better room, or waived resort fees, or???? may be the outcome. And if you get the right person, they may genuinely get the issue routed to the right department so it really does get fixed.

CET is somehow managing to piss off a lot of their players so you'd be surprised. Every time I'm in diamond checkin someone is having a problem.

Thankfully all of my Life comp offers waive the resort fee, and I have never had an issue in the Life on-line reservation system...knock on wood

I think there is a glitch in their overall system now. I stayed recently At Bellagio and my host mentioned that she removed these and they should never have been charged to my account, (I’ve stayed on comp offers there for over 14 years and have never had these appear on my account before)

Is it just me or does Mlife always seem to have issues when compared to CET web site? I have never had an issue with a CET offer/booking. Yet I have read of a lot fo you having issues with Mlife.

I know for a fact that the $39 was not the Resort Fee because when I investigated wtf was going on, the Calendar Rate for the Mirage on my offers stated $39. That's how I know it wasn't a glitch so much as a sneaky snake way of algorithm trying to scam me out of my free room.

    We all have different experiences.

I've had multiple issues with CET online systems, offers, etc.

My last stay at CP, there were so many issues arising from their systems and their responses, I avoid patronizing CET properties. The one consistent thing I heard throughout that experience, from a Rewards desk rep, host on duty, registration rep, phone rep.... and later, in Tahoe, another registration rep..."don't use online system to make offer reservations - always call."

I've always found the CET website to be much more of a PITA than the MLife.

Aria did try charging me $150 a night for a suite upgrade, when I'd taken it through their offer of a discount to $75. Took me about 1/2 hour to sort out in the lounge when it became quite clear I wasn't going to just accept the $150, even though he tried his luck making me, and after I'd shown him the email, too!!

MLife has periodic glitches but always seemed to mostly revolve around posting/removal of TCs and timing of offers/offers disappearing. The other thing they've always had somewhat of a problem with is the way charges are listed in an itinerary for an upcoming trip.

CET's system was rock solid for me for years and years, but they're now starting to have a few issues crop up, the worst one I see is that if you book an offer and then cancel the reservation, the offer is still listed in My Offers, but the button to book it never comes back. By comparison, this functionality on MLife has been stable for a relatively long time now. Cancel an offer booking on MLife, you can pretty much go right back in immediately and book the same dates under the same offer (or current offer, if the original one expired). It used to work that way on CET, it was easy to re-book the same offer, at most within a few minutes of the cancellation.

The other issue is that since they revamped the style of the booking engine interface, I sometimes have problems if I load an offer calendar, pick a specific property and dates, don't like the room choices, and try to change some of the parameters (like property or dates). Things seem to go haywire often and I have to logout, close the browser to clear all cookies, and start over.

CET in general was also better at rolling out changes to their website functions, it seemed like they might have actually tested the shit before they rolled it out, whereas MLife seemed like they would just throw it out there and fix things later.
