As they are in no hurry to go bankrupt, given the sheer volume of stoopit available in this fair land or ours. ;)

The bigger problem for the groom will be if the best man gets belligerent at the reception.

Again, I guess it is admirable for you to want to protect the groom......but apparently he is his best friend if he is the best man.......so the groom has to be stupid to select him. As somebody said above, the groom also needs to worry abut his behavior at the wedding, something that would have long lasting consequences if there is a problem there.

Hopefully all goes well. If not, I would probably wait till the last minute to bail him out. That's just me. Also looking forward to the TR.

Yikes. Yeah, maybe pre-research some local lawyers and have some phone numbers available just in case.

I also second the idea of sitting down with both the groom and the hot head and see if there's a way to mitigate any potential problems.

Over the years, I seen things escalate where I thought people were going to get arrested. One time a couple of us were walking through Harrahs or the Flamingo and it looked like a fight was going to breakout. Someone had made extremely inappropriate remarks to a group that contained mainly girls. People from both sides were yelling at each other. One of the guys in the offended goup went over the loudmouth creating the appearance he was trying to deescalate the situation. The guy couldn't have been more than 5'6 and 140 pounds. He grabbed the loudmouth's elbow and appeared that they were walking away to have a chat. They made it 3 feet and the loudmouth crumpled to the ground. Apparently, the little guy did something to the loudmouth's elbow. Thirty seconds later the group was gone and the loudmouth was still lying on the floor.

    Babysitting in Vegas ?......
    It's no fun
I've never been arrested ........in Vegas.......but
I have been in two bad situations because of others actions.
One of our large group went off the rails after consuming too much alcohol
and he was not in Vegas with his wife.
His buddy was running around like a Mother Hen trying to control this drunk guy.
It was NOT FUN to even observe !
    .
    Another story
I was drinking at the old Fitzgerald's bar
I met two guys from So Cal and we were having a blast at the Crap Table -
    But later at the bar
One guy ( served in the Navy ) started punching knuckles with another drunk who
said he was former Army. -
I never saw the Punching Knuckles Game before ?
Is this a Service thing ?
    Anyway -
It was getting bloody and amping up......
The bar was REALLY crowded -- people shoulder to shoulder -
so I slid in between these two seated guys and pretended to try and get a drink.
They couldn't continue with me between them ---
So I got the OTHER GUY and said " Your buddy is getting into trouble - get him outta here, now !"
    The OTHER GUY did
And I didn't even know these guys !
I HATE BABYSITTING IN VEGAS !!!!!!
    .
    I say......avoid it................but if u go ?.......you OWE US a Trip Report !!!
    Good Luck

In my opinion the “wannabe MMA” stuff will be your biggest issue. I’ve been with a ton of friends in Vegas that are McStumbles or McSleepy, hit on everyone in sight, blacked out, etc. Never been a problem; non-aggressive drunks are a dime a dozen in Vegas.

If you think he can curb the confrontation-seeking behavior for a weekend, talk it over with the groom and share everything you’ve mentioned in this thread. Once the groom realizes your concern stems from wanting to ensure he has a good time, you’ll be on the same team.

You've come to the right place because your 'friend' sounds like one of my best friends, actually....which doesn't say a whole hell of a lot about me, honestly.

I wouldn't say my buddy is an aggressive drunk like Mr MMA, but he gets so fucked up that he can't speak and he continually does stupid shit.

I have stories that I won't waste time typing right now, but he's had four incidents out there and they honestly have all been handled by hotel security. I doubt he'll get arrested unless he assaults somebody, but the property won't put up with too much bullshit and will kick him out permanently if he gets out of control. If he continually tries to re-enter said property, they will get LVMPD involved.

I don't invite my friend out there anymore when I'm going, but he just happened to be there over Super Bowl weekend and we did hang out. He was f'ed up but was under control...I just refused to allow him to go out with me when I was heading out for the night.

I know it's a bachelor party, but my suggestion would be to get away from that action. It's a nightmare dealing with those types of alcoholics.

Val, Val...we need to talk. In person, actually (so you can vouch for your sis).

As a model citizen of these United States, I'm going to tell you that I have never been arrested in my life.

    No handcuffs....only two blindfolds.

And let me tell you something else...I've only been ticketed by law enforcement four times in all of my years. Two were for speeding, one was for walking across a lawn with a gin cocktail at the Mifflin St block party in Madison, WI in 1996 (a ticket I fought and WON), and then that 'interfering with a funeral procession' ticket.

Total bs. It was a college footbal, Saturday, the person was dead and all of those people were driving so g-damned slow when I was trying to get home from the liquor store to catch some of the MAC games I bet on.
