I have not, but someone I know very well was. :(

She's an attorney, but not licensed in Nevada.

It could have been a simple suspicion of DUI ticket (she was not observed behind the wheel) but she got mouthy with the cop and got hauled in in handcuffs. :(

My brother, also an attorney but not in Nevada, had to go down and bail her out at 0-dark-30. He got her competent local counsel who got the charges dismissed.

From this incident I learned the "You can beat the rap but you can't beat the ride" expression. ;( Her law license could have been in jeopardy had the charges gone through. :( They both describe the incident as a night from hell. Very demeaning.

Yep, the "rap and the ride". Not good.

Some people seem to think that, if they argue, or fight with the police, that the cops will simply say: "Whoa guys.....he doesn't want to be arrested, so let's just let him go".

    It doesn't work that way.

This is what I was coming here to say. I'd talk to the groom 1-on-1 beforehand about this, and have plan B and C ready to go on a whim.

Yes. Since I don't want it to be the Grooms problem. I want him to have a good weekend. If that means I have to Uber to jail and bail out the best man so be it.

I wouldn't get close enough to this "best" man to slip him a mickey...bring a dart gun with a sedative.

I think it's admirable that you'd take the heat off of the groom to bail this guy out, but if that's going to be the route this goes make sure to bring a good book to read, you may be waiting at lock-up for quite awhile.

Can't say I've even been arrested -- or even close to it -- in Vegas or elsewhere. I also think it is admirable of you to want to take the heat off the groom, but I question whether you are doing the hot head best man a favor by bailing him out -- sometimes lessons are learned by going through unpleasant circumstances. Has the best man been arrested before?

The jail is directly behind Golden Nugget.

The best man might want to be careful. My friend was playing poker once when a mouthy wannabe MMA type kept taunting a guy about his cauliflower ears and eventually slapped him. This was a bad idea as the guy earned his cauliflower ears by being an actual MMA fighter. Wannabe was disposed of quickly and I wish I would have been there to see it.

Like I said IF this trip happens I will definetly do a live TR. The groom had us over on saturday night and asked us to be in the wedding party. Talk quickly went to the bachelor party weekend, and then to Vegas. I was tasked with prices and options for mid-April since I go alot. Maybe at this point I should just say its going to be like $2k each and put an end to this lol

I was going to suggest that you have live entertainment in your hotel room & avoid the strip clubs (so fights & arrests are minimized). However, live entertainment can result in regrettable stories for the groom & those who have significant others. Good luck.

While getting arrested he will probably get roughed up a little bit and maybe even tazed. Have your camera ready.

Send detailed information on this guy to William Hill and see if they will put odds on him getting arrested.

I think my Citi CC and AAA will post bail on a misdemeanor. Make sure the guy has AAA and trip insurance.

Also get his own hotel room in case he gets booted.

IIAC, the Amex bond guarantee excludes things like DUI, drunk and disorderly, etc.
