This was from my trip in June. Passed out in the hallway. Had to call security. His phone and room key were nearby. 2AE602D3-8B4F-4D0E-9F76-9A795A6DB294.jpeg

I was at Flamingo on the mattress offer last week for 4 nights M, Tu, Wed, Th. It was BY FAR the busiest place out of all the CET properties.

I could have stayed at Caesars, but wanted Flamingo for location and easier access to other properties. Just goes to show that, even being a Vegas veteran with hundreds of trips under my belt. I can still make a rookie mistake.

My hallway was relatively quiet and not the Times Square circa the 1970's that you experienced.

The idiots on scooters who don't need them for health reasons are real. And they're real idiots.

I won't label or use any specific terms to describe the rather "atypical" crowd. I'll just mention a few things I witnessed:

People checking in with shopping bags, plastic bags, and a plastic storage bin as luggage.

Groups of people who didn't have one valid credit card among them they could use for their room deposit.

People pulling wagons with kids and coolers in the wagon.

People cutting in lines. People waiting in the shorter Diamond/Seven Stars lines who were neither Diamond nor Seven Stars.

People who made the homeless on the overhead walkways look classy.

Security and casino personnel were very diligent and strict in enforcing the mask policy and some sort of distancing. But they definitely had their work cut out for them in many instances.

Oddly enough, the vast majority of the times I used the elevators, I had one to myself.

And while the crowd was somewhat "atypical" everywhere, Flamingo was the worst offender and the most crowded. I'm still kicking myself for not having stayed at Caesars and just doing a little more walking to get around.

    reminded me, (this was downtown)
people who hold up the ATM using 6 different credit cards to pull $20 out of each, well, the ones that weren't denied, at least.

Groups of people taking whole banks of slots, none playing, various ranges of mask compliance.

two punk kids giving the finger to a security guard trying to make them mask, and his dejected resignation when just letting them in because he had other things to do, like man the front scanner.

    (Binions)
Some guy pouring drinks out of his backpack into an underage appearing girls McDonalds cup, as brisk dime bag sales happen nearby.

(nttawwt.. except taking up slot space. That ain't right.)

This is really making me question my October trip. Is this limited to certain casinos or is it strip wide? I e heard similar things about Aria of all places. I’ve heard Wynn is still good. Anywhere other than Wynn that seems decent?

None of it ruined my trip, it just caught my eye and made me stop and pause. It was just something I'm not use to. It may sound a bit worst reading it then it was there seeing it.

Yeah, I agree. This stuff didn’t ruin my trip at all when I was there last month.

I never felt unsafe. I was still able to do everything I wanted to do (gamble, eat and drink).

Just kind of eye opening to see how some of these people act in public....

I’ll be back next weekend. I suspect things will be getting a little better now that their extra unemployment debit cards will be drying up.

It would be interesting to look at the visitor demographics for the last 3 months. I'm sure we're seeing a great reduction in the sophisticated middle age to senior demo leaving the sketchy 20 somethings from California running wild in the streets. I wouldn't be shocked if many of them were abusing alcohol too. I'm going to have to check this out for myself. Does anyone know if they have organized scooter races?

I had a group of 6 full speed where the Julius elevators are in CP up past the cage and right up to the bar before you get to the lobby. In and out and around us that were walking.

I agree with this. My friend and I felt safe as two small women, it was a little wild but nothing crazy. We used to party pretty hard though so I think we just felt right at home :D:beer::headbang:

Thanks for sharing your trip! When calling Flamingo they said some bars were open... What was your experience for bars? Any VP at bar tops in CET or MGM properties?

Got back from 5 days in Flamingo yesterday. Upon arriving Tuesday, it was overrun with baggy pants, sideways ball caps, dreadlocks, and 300 lb. women in thong shorts. Rough looking bunches on the sidewalks after dark. I didn't go outside after about 10pm. Never saw it like this before, and I've been coming to Vegas since the 70s.

Awrite, now I gotta ask...are y'all talking about Vegas or are you shooting a sequel to Life After People?

"On the heels of the History channel special that explored what Vegas might be like if the human race were suddenly to disappear comes a series that provides, in even-more detail, a picture of a post-comped future, revealing the fate of structures like the Flamingo and The Strip and creatures that might inherit the places we once vacationed. Supporting the visuals and special effects are interviews with specialists from the fields of gaming, botany, biology, hospitality, finance and entertainment." :nono:

So glad someone else brought this up!

Vegas is always full of women in ill-fitting outfits (and I mean that in the best way possible), but when I was there in July it seemed to all be women who looked like they outgrew their outfits years ago and couldn’t afford to purchase anything new.

To be fair, vegas is super hot and larger humans feel just as good as smaller ones in less clothing when it’s 105+
