There's a lot of chatter that some of the Heartland Schools and the Humidity Conferences are trying to re-align for the year. Good luck with that.

I’ve read that the profits from football programs contribute the most (by far) to a school’s athletic program. I’m thinking that the move to not have a football season could have a significant, long lasting impact on college sports. Not judging the decision but saddened by the potential unintended consequence.

I just don't see how it can fly. MLB, with far lower numbers and less contact than college or pro football, has had serious problems and chances are, won't finish the season. Let's get through this and look forward to next year.

Big time CFB fuels other sports. Some have argued that's why the $7M head coach salaries and all the shenanigans are allowed because, well, look at all the good it does. I'm not taking a stance on it, just pointing it out. Money absolves a lot of sins.

A solid plan, actually. One game the entire season, for the national championship. LSU vs Alabama. The sports books would go crazy.

    Clemson wouldn't like it, but......

The university of Texas has about 110,000 seats. Do the math. If the average seat is 100$ that 11 million a home game. 5 home games or more is getting into serious money. And we haven’t entered tv money yet or booster donations that are sought (and it’s goood). + parking and concessions and jerseys and likenesses sold to video games etc.

I don’t understand the need to spend it ALL each year and now....we’re in the crapper.
We have people down here (probably like Alabama, OSU, etc) that will build a building if the right name goes on it.
It’s crazy. Like ticket prices at bowl and championship games. Who said T Leary was dead?.....
One lost year won’t do us in. We can relive yesterday on espn (chose your teams best year) just by watching the TV guide.
(I’m sure SOMEONE is researching MSU odds to win a national championship since they’ve reportedly folded) (you know it’s true).

CFB is my #1 sport to watch. Actually, CBS Sports Network's midweek Inside College Football is my favorite thing to watch. I love that show. I'll survive just fine if there is no season. I'll miss it.

If there’s no season, I’ll miss Lee Corso & College GameDay. Never really paid that much attention to what they were saying but I loved the screaming college kids in the back.

Assuming CFB is a wash this season. For a number (and type) of 'fans'...will this be a case of 'out of sight, out of mind' or 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' for next season? o_O

Only sport I will miss if not played/shown. You can only watch so many beanbag throws. Although I played golf many years watching it puts me to sleep.

300+ players/caddies tested at the PGA. No positives. The participants seem to be respecting the COVID directives of the tour. (And a sport that separates naturally.)

Obviously some coaches are pushing back on their presidents.

Stick the six teams that matter, as far as the national championship discussion goes, in a bubble & let em go at it for a couple weeks. Make a boatload of money.

    Ahh, pipe dream.
