Sportsbooks are using more of those machines, and also online betting, and these two stories show where mistakes were recently made. Looks like in both cases the Books are not going to pay.

In the first story, games were posted with lines, but the wrong starting times were mistakenly put in the system, so some bets were made after the games had actually started, and the books accepted and took the bets. Whose fault is that?

In the second story, for a soccer game the wrong line was put in the machine, and bets were made, and the sportsbooks accepted the bets. Whose fault is that?

Of course they should pay. If you or me make a mistake we are held accountable. Would they refund the player if he lost the bet? I think not. The only circumstance that I would maybe agree with is if the bet was made after the final score.

I made a basketball bet ( it’s not my thing) but they had a team favored that should have been an underdog. It was at Lakesideinn (rip) in Stateline. I come in the next day after skiing and the bet is good. Thanks for coming in as you are the last ticket we were looking for. damn I think. They had reversed the numbers. Ok the guy said good eye. I was just casually perusing. imagine if I tried to make a living doing that .... (not much imagination needed)

We're not talking the proverbial machine malfunction. They put the info in. If it's wrong, it's on them.

It makes for a great story that the guy got approval from the supervisor, who even let him go all the way up to 10k- I wouldn't hold my breath though.

The sportsbooks should be made to accept and pay off the wagers. They should have better checks and balances in place.

These baseball games were played in the early morning hours. Only drunks and "sharps" up at that time. Congrats to the sharps for being so "sharp".

I also think that the Phil Ivey baccarat court case was wrongly adjudicated. The casino accepted the conditions that were suggested by Ivey & partner. By accepting the conditions, they are also accepting the outcome.
