Whats happenin folks. Making a trip out to LV at the end of March. 3rd trip out there. Lookin to stay downtown with a buddy for my birthday. Blackjack mostly. I typically bet between $50-$200 depending on how hot my run is. My buddy is more novice and bets between $25-$50 a hand. 4+ hours a day is no issue at all.

Can anyone relay their comp offers Downtown that fit into these betting ranges? Or what we could realistically expect. We want to have a great time, and we want to earn our comps as well.

The D would be happy to take care of you for that action. You would not be getting a suite there, but most likely getting up to four nights comped (including weekends) in a Deluxe room.

Your play levels also fit into what El Cortez wants for blackjack players to whom they give comp room offers.

I’ll counter with this question, what are you wanting and where from? Like the strip, places value their rooms and action differently.

The D would be a good place for you, especially if you like the party scene. I found it difficult to sleep there.

El Cortez would treat you well too. Just off Fremont Experience.

Golden Nugget might be a great place for you too. Lots of tables and food there.

@BayouBengal Comped presium room/suite with food/beverage credit. I know this is more possible downtown vs the strip

@Necrochaos how far comp wise do you believe I would get with $100-$200 average at the D?

@SplitAces I'm sure you would get a few nights, some food and likely some match play.

I think GN would be the best casino for your action.

The high limit rooms at the D and GG would also be an option as long as they let your friend play at the $25 level (GG probably will but I don't know about the D).

I have to disagree with the poster who said El Cortez as likely depending of the game that you play (and if it is the SD), you won't last 30 minutes playing that game before you will directed to the other non BJ games or maybe even the exit.

    D/GG
GN if you like the attitudes.
DTG would probably take care of you as well, but the empty casino is a bit of a downer for some.

I took two buddies down to El Cortez. One was a green chip player that was RFB at The D and the other was a red chip player. They sweated the green chip player for awhile until they figured out that he was just playing Martingale strategy. Even though he gave them more action and had a losing session, he didn’t get much (a few player club points that were below the redemption threshold). On the other hand, after a few hours my buddy playing reds got dinner and had enough points on his card to get a few small things at the gift shop.

I think you're being steered right to D,
but if that's a bit much for you, like it is for me,
you might love the single deck GG HL $25 min.
It's a little too rich for my blood, but a perfect no sucker bet pure game, like BJ used to be.
As long as you insist you get the suite and not a regular room.
Also, if it matters to you, all rooms are non smoking.

Trying out the D first is probably the move, and hey, how many months until Circa opens?
    not that many.

I just hope everyone boycotts paying any ridiculous rates for rooms to be in at the jump,
(though new years sounds like a hot ticket)
so the comp offers can start rolling out.

on that note I don't suppose you can use or convert D match play chips to GG?

(and yeah, DTG if you like it quiet, though I don't know if they've got the comp/hotel side thing figured out..
I might find out, went down in flames trying to use a $50 mp, if they go hourly not ADT, I'm looking good)

At DTG, if the mailers aren’t quite up to snuff in terms of a room comp I’ve never had a problem getting my host to comp a room there. Or even drop in and get a food comp. I used to go there for at least a day of gambling when they had the 4 way progressive on their bar top poker. Now it’s only AWAK and Royal progressive.

I think with your level of play anywhere downtown would be glad to have your action. I like the Golden Nuggett. I'm not sure about upfront comps but you should get offers after your visit. And I'm sure that you would get some backend comps from a host, I just can't tell you how much it would be. I'm sure the D or Cal or DTG or MSS , would all like to have you.

I'm not a fan of the Golden Nugget. The D is very nice have stayed many times the comps come easier for me there. Same play level and I get offers at the Nugget for 2 nights at the D I get 4 nights with food and beverage slot and match play. You will also get offers from Golden Gate and now with Circa it might be worth getting some play at Sister properties.

I would expect things could change a bit between now and next March. Hopefully Covid is memory then.. or at least less of an issue.

Meanwhile, the new CIRCA will be open. Hard to say how others will react to their opening and possible drain on other properties.

Where did you play on last visits? Any comps from any of them?

As a side-note, you will be able to play at any of the high-limit "salons", at the Nugget, the D, DTG & Golden Gate. All of them offer a double-deck game, 3:2, DAS permitted.
Your buddy will be able to play the $25 high limit table at GG, and at the others too, if he goes to $50/hand.

4 hours a day at those levels (either of you) will get you a comped stay anywhere downtown (except for maybe Circa, when it opens).
Skip the blackjack at Boyd properties (no DAS) and at 4-Queens/Binions (6:5 or sucker-bet required).

El Cortez remains the king of low-limit blackjack, offering $5/$10 3:2 double-deck, with DAS.

    (All downtown properties/tables are H17)

    Good luck!

Oh but getting run from the ElCo is something everyone needs to experience at least once. Multiple times for most.
