Was hoping to hit some off strip casinos when in town next month.

We have a Boyd property about an hour away from us in Indiana. We are always treated well there and wanted to see more of their places.

We enjoyed Fremont and will be staying at California for this trip.

We hit Joker's Wild during the last visit and had a good time playing $1 craps for a few hours.

I heard Sam's Town was $3 before the pandemic. Can anyone confirm what their limits are now?

Do they have all of their games open or just a few of them? Their website mentioned that craps, blackjack and PiGow were open, but wasn't sure if that was an extensive list.

We might check out the Cannery while we are over that way as well since it is so close.

I was at Sam's Town last week during the day, but as a 99% slot player, only paid attention to the Slot Games.

They have the new GoT machine "Winter is here".

    It was very quiet.

Be sure to jump on the Sam's Town motor-coach at the Cal... no charge. You can check it out and, if it's not your cup-of-tea, jump right back on the return ride, (or go to Harrah's from Sam's).

I don't think it's running at the moment.

Thanks for the tip. We will have a rental car for the trip as we plan to visit lots of different casinos and restaurants while in town. With MGM removing parking fees, having a rental car is more affordable. We have 4 different hotel stay as well. Having a car will be invaluable.

I think Eastside Cannery is still closed.

Not sure if they still have it running during COVID however I can attest to how convenient and CLEAN the shuttle its. Its very decked out..I was surprised how nice it was. Took to to/from Harrahs and then downtown to the Cal. Saved some money by not using UBER/LYFT.

I'll be staying there 08/14 and visiting Jokers Wild among other properties. I'll check the minimums for craps at both places. Let me know if there's anything else you want to know and I''ll try to find out. I'll be on Boulder Highway from most of the trip. And yes, Eastside Cannery is still closed.

The Jokers Wild website says the table games are temporarily closed. Hopefully they'll reopen soon. I'll be there just a couple days after you.

Just a bump to see if anyone has been to Sam's Town? We saw a video about the atrium there and thought it looked cool. Still wondering about table minimums.

Was there the weekend before last and stayed Friday and Saturday night. Every restaurant was open except for Calamity Jane's that I could see. We had a great steak dinner at Angry Butcher and ate at Roberto's Taco Shop three times. It was lively enough during the weekend and drink service was outstanding. I had forgotten how much I enjoy their robust inventory of full pay video poker and the 11x point multiplier on Sunday added about 1.833% to the already 99%+ paytables if you use your points for vittles.

I just came back from Las Vegas today. Sam's Town table limits that I noticed: $10 blackjack shoe, $25 double deck; $10 minimum pai gow, 3 card poker, ultimate Texas Hold'em, other carny games. I'm not sure about craps as there weren't many players during day even though table open. At night craps was busy in spurts. Knowing some of the players, I think it was $5-$10 (big difference I know). Bingo running lots of promotions.

As noted, cocktail service good most of the time. No housekeeping but they responded to calls for more towels, coffee, shower amenities quickly.

Man, I was hoping that a locals place would be $5.

    Thanks for the update.

That would be my first thought too. Unfortunately the casinos need to capitalize (sorry for the pun) on the crowds they're limited to. Of course you could look at it like the chicken and egg. Do you get added play with lower limits or maximize revenue with higher limits. I'm sure once they get back to reasonable capacities, some lower limits will return. Time will tell.

Just checking again to see if anyone has been here recently. Hoping to make it out that way in December. We didn't make it to Sam's during our Aug/Sep trip

As far as Sam's Town.. craps table is $10 - $15 min.. depending on what type of mood the casino is in, they'll have one table open with a waiting list.. sometimes 2 tables.. don't expect to get any drinks on a regular basis.. I loved Gambling at Sam's Town but it hasn't been the same.. Fremont, GN & GG hotspots for craps. Speaking for DT

Jokers wild tables are permanently done. Replaced with phoney baloney video blackjack. No more dollar craps. It was fun while it lasted. Only reason I go now if for nickle bar top VP.

Never been there before. Was the table $5 before COVID?
