For those who have made plans to travel back to Vegas, have you seen changes on air travel due to limited flights? My upcoming Labor Day Weekend trip has changed 2 times already via Southwest. This latest itinerary change makes it less desirable, as it adds an extra stop, an extra flight change, and 2.5 more hours in the air.

I think just about everyone who has plans to visit has had changes made. We had a change for our Oct. trip that made our normally 6+ hr trip (no nonstops out of PHL) 10 hrs with two stops. Not acceptable. Pick the flights you want even if they're more expensive and call SW to make the change. We did and our flight now is better than the original one-no upcharge. SW has excellent customer service. They will gladly change your flight.

Yes, we booked our flights to Vegas in December. They have been changes 5 times. Multiple flights were canceled and consolidated into other flights. I think the Friday we fly out, there are only 3 flights to Vegas from Detroit. That's crazy!

Edit: This is in regards to Delta.

I have changed mine 4 times already for a September trip out of Chicago. Very easy to do it online, no additional charges.
Received another notice last night, however they only moved the flight time back 10 minutes, so no big deal this time.

My Sept SWA flight changed again as well. My guess is every two to four weeks they evaluate the scheduled flights and reduce where they can

MY SWA flights have been changed numerous times. They have totally canceled 2 of my nonstops. Every morning now I wonder if I have another change email. UGH!
And yes, changing to another flight is easy enough, but when they get rid of the nonstops it's a pain. And the nonstops are the reason I originally started flying with SWA.

Delta was changing my flights a lot. I rebooked with SWA because of it and I actually haven't had any changes with them...yet. We shall see what happens in the next couple weeks.

I am more familiar with AA and Delta than SW. It seems that SW has been more active on flight changes than others?

IMHO, it's because SWA is staying firm on "no middle seat" occupancy, and needs to continually adjust schedules to minimize loss. I for one applaud this, as (I see it) they are maintaining a balance between profits and passenger safety.

We got an email twice today....once at 2:42 am and one at 5:45 am. The first canceled out return and gave a longer return. I stupidly click change and changed BACK to the original nonstop. Then The second email with the update. So either way we have the nonstop home. I find it a challenge. Outwit the scheduler. No benefits but satisfaction is guaranteed

AA eliminated my rt flights in October and rebooked us on other flights. That was the excuse to request a full refund. Sounds like it should go through but I probably won't know for at least another week.

AA canceled my nonstop flight (I think all nonstop flights) from NY to LAS for late August and rebooked my on a connecting flight. I canceled that flight and rebooked a nonstop evening flight JetBlue which was also canceled. But I was rebooked on a morning nonstop flight. Praying there are no more surprises like this.

They are all making changes. Just the way it is.

#1 rule with changes. YOU look up currently available options and pick what YOU want. Most can be done online.

NEVER just call in and ask for a change. You never know what you will get.

I've been changed many times on SWA and they give a link to change to the flight or choice. No problem and sometimes you may get a better nonstop flight.

southwest just changed my September return flight a few minutes ago

originally it was nonstop Vegas to Nola, then they switched it to a stop in Dallas and I was fine with that...few weeks ago they switched me back to the Not available Non-stop, im fine with that also...so I just get a email that ive been switched, when I open the flight info, it has me leaving Vegas super early, flying to Phoenix, then Denver, then Nola...I switched it back to the Non-stop, see how long that stays, lol

Lol there are so many changes in this thread my head is spinning. I am accustomed to literally no changes flying out of major hubs direct.

For the past 3+ weeks when I check my upcoming AA flight I receive a pop up stating “your flight has changed. check back soon to see what changed“
Maybe they’re keeping it a secret so we don’t bail on the trip.

As of today it looks like we’re going to change the trip from a 7 night trip to a 4 night trip...

I guess I've been lucky with our SWA flights. I have 3 different trips booked for September and October with them.

There have been multiple changes of both arrival and return flights. All have been changes to the flight times only. In one case the departure time was changed once to leaving 45 minutes later than originally scheduled and the change the second time changed it back to the original time of departure.

A change I received yesterday on one flight was only a change of the flight number. I suspect that there will be more changes coming and as late long as I still have the option to change to a different flight if I don’t like the changes they make or cancel entirely, I’m happy.

Realistically I’m not sure we will be make by any of those flights. So for the time between by I’m just rolling with the changes.

My fear with 1/3 of the seats unsold there could be problems getting seats on the direct flights. So I changed when they sent me the change, back to original direct flight. I know they are tweaking but there should be a better way to shuffle. :poker:
