We're arriving tomorrow for several nights at Delano. Post-pandemic, we've been to the SW at the Wynn and Cut at the Palazzo, and wanted to try Andiamo at the D. Being the cheapskate that I am I wanted to accumulate enough play for a comp. I play mostly tables, with a minimum bet of $100. Average bet tends to lean higher. Can anyone recommend a good host at the D for this situation? Definitely not expecting the comp pre-play - just wanted to ensure that I can have play rated accordingly.
I'm not sure what you're asking here. A host doesn't rate your play. A host evaluates what the pit boss rates your play at and provides comps accordingly. At my level, I currently get $125 Food credit, enough for a decent two person meal at Andiamo's with no alcohol. However, I am a 99% slot player and I put in about $5000 a day in action.
Most likely need to work with the pit boss in the HL area. Don’t know if a host would be right for a same-day comp. Personally, I work with Paula and I have been very happy with her, as well as the good folks in VIP Services. Never hurts to ask. The worst that happens is both pit and host say no.
Go to the D BJ HL and play for an hour at your stated rate. Ask your pit boss for a host. They will have one immediately for you as they would love to continue to book your action. Host will be happy to comp Adiamo’s at that play rate for you.
Thanks for all the assistance. We're likely eating at Andiamo's Thursday night, so that gives me some time to build some comps up.
They have a high limit table game area. If you can stand the noise at night. If not, best to play during the day. I have gotten comps written by the pit boss there playing baccarat. Minimum bet on midi is $100, and I think my average bets were around $300-$400 at least. I'm, pretty sure $100 for 4 hours won't get you Andiamo, but you indicate your average is higher than this. For bacc at $300 per hand for four hours I'd say your comp is $200-$230. That's playing banker at a 30% comp rate. I'd say that is the minimum comp. Dinner for myself, which is usually salad, a ribeye, and a side of pasta with Italian sausage is around $150 w/ no alcohol. With a very generous tip. So it can be done, but I'd definitely let them know about half way through playing that you'd like dinner.
Not trying to be the voice of reason but if you are $100 ++ bettor than why would you worry about the comps. I understand that if you are going to play at the D because you want to play there for x number of hours it would be nice to get a steakhouse dinner. But you could lose a lot of money trying to chase a dinner you could pay for with 1 or 2 bets.
Yes, I realize it's a bit unreasonable. And honestly, I may just stick with my usual haunts. We'll see. I haven't played at the D. Ever. And I've heard a lot of good things about Andiamo. Plus - as I alluded to in the OP - I'm a bit of a cheapskate. I don't chase comps when I play, so hopefully I'll be able to play within my boundaries and still get the comp. But your point - and the points of others - is completely valid.
Either way, have a great trip down to the The D. I don't play table games much but Paula is also my host and I think she's great.
Under normal circumstances, Executive Casino Host Darren Banks often hangs out with Derek Stevens at Long Bar. He's very approachable, and I've talked with him, even though my play is very, very, very far from deserving of a host. There is a host office near registration, as well. The club is pretty transparent, and earned comps are not all that hard to get. Since my play is pretty much $100 through video poker per day and some craps, playing minimum with double odds, I've never even bothered in asking about discretionary comps.
exactly! I play much less, and never worry about or even think about comps. I play for fun and for win, comps are extra bonus. My only concern about comps is that I always have too much food credits which I couldn't possibly use all of them.
