Another correction on cocktail service, those horrible nights were tue/wed.

Since then, especially last night, it’s been greatly improved.

Last night, at the cal, they started coming around in half the fine it took to finish a drink.
Conditioned from the slow times, I would order another figuring it would take a while.

    Heavy continuous drinking.

    Ouch, my head.

    Up and at em though.
    Last night
    Let’s get it
    Let’s GOOOOOO!!!

(edit, moved DTG stuff to end for chronological consistency)

Swung through D to get the matchplay chips.

Hit 4q, was incredibly hot, stuffy, and crowded. We were running late and had 1/2 hr to try for the promo. We couldn’t take it.

P quickly won a $40 silver strike, we moved on to Fremont.

was hearing blood walk a premonition?

I played some VP in the coolest spot I could find, the multiplayer unit w a view of the waitress station. (Great spot to intercept her on the way back). P played some slots, but the crowd and loudness was too much. A little better than 4q but still too hectic.
I think P waited 15 minutes to get something to drink and heard a lady yelling at the cashier about trying to charge a hot dog to her credit card.
I had a beer and a water well before she got back.

Moved on to binions. Saw my friends from last night like they said, working the front table. It was full so hopped onto the next one. Pretty serious table. Everyone mostly knew the etiquette and I got in on a shooters pretty decent roll. I rolled like crap, the next guy brought me back , up $13 after tip.

    P goes + $80 on a quick hits.

Kept it moving (“hit & run, baby”) to GG. Finally less crowds and some working a/c. Hit and run HL, settle in to the progressive .25 machines.

Just get my mise set and the machines fritz out.

Slot guy comes out says it’ll come back on in a few minutes,
machines lose connection to the server and this happens
    .
I ask if it will continue to happen in the night, he says yes, probably.
(big up on the honesty, GG slot manager!)
We follow the signs and head to plaza.

    * Hell no, that wasn't a drink from a cocktail waitress, w had just bought two tallboys from ABC, and they'd both be gone before I got a chance to order one... at the Plaza.

    3:03 am.

Plaza (mostly $10) Tables were full at bj, saw a spot open, but a guy was playing two hands.

There are two craps tables at the ends of the table games, full so didn’t check limits. Prob 10 or 15.

P was getting tired so headed back to the cal.

Omg it’s a ghost town again, on a Friday night !

Found the most cherry bubble craps machine I’ve ever seen, by Holo Holo, played alone. Had a nice run, lost count somewhere around 21 rolls. Then it ended. Really nice new machine.

Is that downstairs near Dave's bar? I think I see the bar in the background but don't remember the machine.

Here’s 9 minutes of data I sacrificed, for the sake of science:

    TIer points start was 10,252.
    Pretty much straight down.
Wait. I got no points ?
I ought to check that on a kiosk.

    What a coinkydink!

I got some major bitch session posts coming up, but the phrase that kept coming up in my mind was “nickel and diming”, and we kept noticing how the hurdles, or rings you have to jump through to max comps is designed to be just enough of a pain in the ass that only the hardcore can comprehend or navigate it.

I’m sure some genius bean counters ran spreadsheets to see how they can promise but not deliver things to folk that get caught in a snag.

Maybe it’s the current situation and low staffing or whatever, but can they comprehend what it is like to waste time chasing promises, be disappointed, then walk out through a near empty casino.

Fool me twice.... you won’t ..

We’re probably going to cut back on our monthly visits. As situations dictate.

    Or ask me next week.

Forgot pass again to log into app, used to remember it for me.

this was the end, forgot about the pull out reinsert thing. Kiosks were down.. Will check online shortly... don't think I played Boyd after that.

End trip TC was 10,306.. start at this machine, 10,252= 52 tier points in..
What's your guess at coin in and buy in?

When you're sitting at the 10-play BP machines it is behind you. Closer to the Holo Holo Bar wall than the video poker wall. I think I relearned the rules of craps while playing VP last night. "Press the button!"

When you put the card back in (or checked the online portal after taking your card out), did your TCs go up by 1, 2, or 10?

If TCs on VP are earned based on the house edge of the exact game you are playing, you would have gotten just short of 2 TCs. With rounding, you might have seen the TC count go up by 2. If recent reports are correct about TC earning changes for VP, your $106 of coin-in would have earned you 10 TCs (meter might have moved 11 with rounding).

I had 651 TCs when I went about 10 days ago. I played only the $1 NSUD at Fremont for roughly one hour and at the end my TCs were at 1035. I think it is safe to say the TCs are running at $10 per point for VP, at least for right now. Nothing about any change on their website.

    Wow I overpack bad.
Don’t regret it with these shortened food option hours.

Been packing since I got to the room.
Was planning to use the rest of our FC for breakfast. OOPS, No wait, cafe is only open 4pm to 1 am.

Trying to get out of here and don’t want to go back to Fremont to see what Saturday is like.

Guess we’re heading out to South Point.

Awesome. Checking out of Cal, there was some sort of kerfuffle.

P reports a couple were fighting and security was trying to escort them out, as he is yelling, “they’re going to call the cops and take your ass to jail, bitch!! get out!!, I didn’t hit her!”

As she is holding her face, crying hysterically, as two security guards were trying to get her the four feet out of the lobby.

As we are discussing how this somehow is the perfect capper to this trip, we pull out of the parking lot.

Have I mentioned we love the Cal,
and P is running something like 4/5 out of the change cup game.
    It's funnier every time.

At Southpoint, we were just supposed to grab something to eat...
But needed to digest a little for a while..
