And because the Eagles were FAR more than just Glenn and Don:

This was perfect for one those let-her-go regrets we all know. (And nearly 40 years later we still chat a few times a year and laugh about it all.)

This is the very first song I ever remember liking. I couldn't understand why my mom kept telling me not to sing it lol.

This is one of, what my sister and I call, Bus 11 songs. We rode the school bus - Bus 11 - one place we lived and the bus driver Mr. Truitt would let us bring in tapes and play on the bus stereo.

I looooved NKOTB. At least I never called their 900 number like my sister did. I never got to go to concerts until a few years ago. One of my favorite of their recents (I was at this concert - this exact one).

This was on heavy repeat (still is) after the Coachella performance. I went to an HBCU and this is totally any HBCU game. Gets me hype every time.

(This post took forever to write because I had to listen to everything.)

I do like music, but can't think of any song that I get too sentimental about.

I do remember once in college, when I had a couple of hours to kill before my next class. I was at the dorm, and decided to close my eyes for a few minutes. When I woke up, this song was playing on the radio, and all I could think was .....well shit, I'm late for class. How's that for a song that takes you back? :kill:

I once told my daughter, that you hear Landslide differently depending on your age and your station in life. This is my song that takes me back.

In my early 20s, It was about taking risks, climbing mountains, failing regularly, trying again.

Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'Til the landslide brought me down

Later on in my 20s it was about finding love and realizing you have to grow up to truly appreciate another person.

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?

Then I was a mom in my 30s, a parent, dealing with work, trying to strike a balance.

Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Kids grow up too and move out then you figure out the next steps of your life.

Well, I've been 'fraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
    But time makes you bolder
    Even children get older
    And I'm gettin' older, too

Fifteen years old in the summer of 1988 and watching MTV's "Closet Classics Capsule" hoping, as I always did, that they'd show Jimi Hendrix videos because that's what I wanted to be and that's why I took up the guitar. They played this and ok, I can be Jimi Hendrix AND this:

The reaction was the same as it was to Jimi Hendrix and the Sex Pistols: I have no idea what I just witnessed, I've never seen anything like it, but I think it is beyond awesome and I want as much of it as I can.

And a LOUD garage band was formed not long after :D

My best friend in high school LOVED this song (I think it's ok). He bought the cassette and insisted we listen to it every morning when I picked him up on the way to school. We also picked up this very pretty gal that he was sort of dating and her two equally pretty sisters, one of whom became an actress. The three gals were never ready so we'd wait out in the car and listen to this AGAIN. After school, we'd hang out at their house - the castle, AKA the beast. When I hear it, I see this:

...along with my best friend and three dolls in the spring of 1990.

Trivia: if any of you were officers in the USMC, the house across the street was the home of Presley O'Bannon, which he built in the early 1800s. My friend retired as captain and was speechless when he found out that the O'Bannon house, as it's known locally, was THAT O'Bannon house. "I didn't know he was a hillbilly."

Genesis "Your Own Special Way". I used to listen to it in college right before I went to class to take an exam. Every time I hear it now on my Ipod it takes me right back to college.
