Ok...as I’m kicking idea going or not to Vegas (due to obvious crazy COVID shit) Beau Rivage popped up! And when I “glance” Thru COVID situation it’s not any better then some areas however I need to go some where (ocean!!! Ooowhoo!!) ..... I thought of Beau Rivage (after reading thread posted by @Colesc15 :) )
I’m thinking Beau Rivage could replace Vegas this one time besides (ocean!!!)

anyhow, can VMB members who been there share their experience about it please? Beau Rivage Resort & Casino (mgm, most likely stay here) and it’s surrounding area? Never been down there .. is it humid? (Thinking middle of August) are the area safe to walk around? Is it city life? I see the beach, is it clean? And safe?

    thanks for your input.

First of all, yes, it's hot and very humid in summers. We go there regularly on junkets and love the Beau. It's like a mini Bellagio without the higt price tag. Most of the casinos are spread out along the beach but there a few on the back bay. The only ones close to the Beau are Hard Rock (next door) and Harrah's (maybe a mile away) but they do have the Hopper, a trolley that will take you to some of the other casinos. We always rent a car when we're there because we like to travel around.

There are lots of things to get you out of the casino like shrimp boat tours, a schooner cruise, a trip to Ship Island (to a better beach or to see the old fort). a day trip to NOLA, Stennis Space Center, an aquarium,a walk through Ocean Springs for some shopping and lunch, swamp tours. All of these are great side attractions and most cannot be done without a car. We always rent from the Enterprise In D'Iberville-much cheaper than renting from Enterprise at the Beau and they will pick you up.

We've always felt very safe walking around but I wouldn't be doing too much of that in August. It's not at all like a city. Lots of old antebellum homes along the waterfront. The beaches are very nice but don't plan on swimming. The water is shallow and murky but definitely safe. There are areas where you can rent watercraft if that's your thing.

The Beau is a beautiful hotel with a nice casino. We mostly play slots and VP. The VP does NOT have good paytables. The pool is lovely and a better alternative to the beach. They also a great fitness center. Restaurant selections are okay, not great and some of them are not open every day but there are a few good restaurants within walking distance, like Mary Mahoney's.

The problem with going now during COVID is that many of the attractions may not be open so you may be pretty much stuck with staying at the hotel and enjoying the amenities there. Have fun whatever you decide.

I've done the free flight junkets to the Beau Rivage a few times and mirror most of what NandJ said. A group of friends and I have tentative plans to take a road trip to The Beau the week of August 17th, depending on the COVID situation. We are coming from South Florida (The Hottest COVID Hot Spot) to Biloxi, MS (Another COVID Hot Spot) so we will see what happens the next couple of weeks.

August in Biloxi is definitely hot and humid and it will rain, typically late afternoon thunderstorms, plus you need to watch the tropics for potential hurricanes.

Biloxi is fun, but it's no Vegas.

We love the Beau, have done the junkets and driven. In fact we are headed there in 9 days. Great pool area, nice rooms, restaurants on site are good. We also like to walk downtown (literally across the street) and have 3 favorite restaurants there -Adventures, Half Shell and Mary Mahoney's. Check them out online.

Yes, very humid....try Google maps, ground view, it will give you a pretty good representation of the lay of the land..,if you are not on a junket, ground transportation to/from GPT and BR can be a bear...there is a trolley (if it's running, $2 fare?) that does a loop route from BR to the other casinos...it's a 30-40 minute turnaround mol...

NandJ nailed it. Google Ship Island to see if they are open. The boat ride is fun usually dolphins follow along. The beach there is quite nice. Its a good get away from the casinos. Ocean Springs is a short a drive and another nice get away. The Beau is great. I'm partial to the Beau, the Palace, and Scarlett Pearl. Island View is in Gulfport and has 2 casinos smoking and non. The drive is all along the beach I never get tired of the drive.

We were supposed to be leaving tomorrow for LV but recently canceled and heading to Beau on junket from RSW on Sunday. Like the others have said it’s a very nice property but Biloxi is not Vegas. We were fearful two weeks ago after they shut bars down fearing a total Vegas shutdown was possible we opted for Biloxi. The Beau puts on a nice little package with flight, room and FP either comped or very cheap. I hope to do a TR if I don’t get in degen mode.

Thanks for the update...I spoke w a host there and she’s pretty much taking care of me :) I just gotta figure out whether I’m gonna go for sure or not.... wife still rather go Vegas which I get it. But just walking around with mask all over and no shows open (thought shows suppose to open starting 8/1) if some of the restrictions lift then I may consider it .... if stays same I’m probably gonna lean towards to Beau Rivage will see.

but tell you the truth... I just don’t feel like doing shit.... you know that feeling of getting “excitement” going on vacation is JUST NOT THERE!!!! Errrrrr:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit:

Can’t wait till all these Covid shit gets over and go back to normal!!!
