It's only going to get worse.

As for us, specifically, no problems.

My mail delivery has not changed from the pre-covid days. It's working fine, here. (knock on wood).

Not U.S. Mail, but if you send something FedEx, it could be to around the corner, it still has to go through Memphis first. At least East of the Mississippi.

Come on folks. There is a concrete reason why the PO is having problems and losing money. Its not a secret and the people responsible would tell you what they are doing to your face. The folks out in the sticks are going to be really hurt by this eventually. The cities will fair much better.

No one above stated why they are losing money. These articles have been around for a while stating why they are losing money. most of the above posts have been about the inefficient service offered by the USPS lately

The postal union in Portland Maine has charged the leadership of forcing postal carriers to deliver Amazon packages before regular mail. I read about it in the Portland Press Herald news paper in Maine.

Mailed a 1st class letter from DEN to Milwaukee, dropped off at PO on Monday.
Nor received on other end until Saturday.
Same thing with a small babble wrap..mailed inside on Monday, they didn't get until Sat.
So much for 1st class! (used to be 3 days max)

Fedex or UPS..drop off anywhere, many locals complaining of delivered to wrong address.

Due to changes in where things are routed, a letter going across town that used to get there next day now takes 3-5 days. I think everything goes to Portland so it can age for a few days. We have a rural carrier and the time they came each day used to be consistent. Now it's anywhere in a four hour window. I no longer trust them with anything if I can help it.

OK, I'll be in the minority. We have no problems with USPS. Sending or delivery.

I don't get anything urgent via snail mail anymore by design. As always the individuals (slobs like me) are always accountable. The USPS, not so much.

I had USPS delivery issues that resulted in late bill payments...I finally wised up and went to paperless billing...I've been told that letter carriers are not full time employees, but are independent contractors operating on 6 month contracts with extensions based on their performance...

Other than mine being burned down by riots, I'm pretty pleased with their service. They still impress me on the ability to stay open while losing billions every year.

My dad has always had problems mailing us stuff from Phoenix, it would take days longer then when I mailed him stuff and one time we were never notified of a package, and they sent it back. No other problems that I have seen.

My Penthouse went missing for three months so I called and got my carrier canned for theft.

Felt bad when I later discovered my subscription had lapsed

Yes, there are some things going on that are already causing problems for some and probably will cause problems for many more over time, but going any deeper into it may get me a :nono: from mods ;) As to the USPS “losing” money every year, as some have suggested, let’s just say there’s a reason I put that word in quotes :)

Our subdivision has 163 properties. Last year when I mailed out HOA invoices, twelve properties did not receive their letter. I personally mailed each and every one of these packages at the post office. That's a 93% success rate. Not sure I see something like 93% delivery as success. Is this the fault of contract employees? I dunno. I just find it hard to miss 7% of your clustered mailboxes. Haven't held the USPS in high esteem for quite some time.
