These are Da Bomb! You have to tinker a bit with the directions to get it right. Crispy outside, soft inside. Great potatoey taste. Sprinkle on some Old Bay, Dayum!

    I highly recommend.

There should probably be three classes for this competition: deep-fryer (easy), air fryer (medium), oven (hard mode). From restaurants my favorites are battered/twice fried (ie Golden Chick) followed by waffle (a la Chic Fil A). Any fries you can make at home in an oven that are that good? Hopefully so, and hopefully someone will tell me!

Thanks for the Old Bay recommendation, @Breeze147. Gonna try that next time we cook some up.

If you like old bay and have Utz chips available near you look for 'the crab chip'.

Which ever you like, if they arent heavily seasoned, you might like this. It's basically the same powder used to flavor ketchup potato chips. Found on Amazon. Also great on popcorn. Same company has a few other interesting flavors, but I like this one.

For fries, I like the Arby's curly fries, and the plain old Ore Ida shoestring. Checkers also available frozen here and pretty good if you want thick breaded/seasoned. I pretty much only deep fry though, and all of the above arent great in the oven. If I could ever perfect getting the crinkle cuts fried up the way I like em, I might love those too.

Don't buy frozen potatoes of any type. May eat frozen ones at Dairy Queen f they come with main dish.

I like the crinkle cut, but I get the handcut style. A little of of my base rub and I'm rolling.
